I have decided that, since Florida is going to win the rest of its SEC games and therefore the SECE, I should not be concerned with UT losing another SEC game for a cushion. I instead need to root for two teams to win out from here to end of regular season: Tennessee and Auburn.

If so, the SEC will sport three teams at 11-1: UT, UF, Auburn. Can you imagine the style points the computers would give all of us?

Florida beats Auburn in the SECCG and earns the right to play OSU for the NT. UT is an at large BCS team and goes to either the Sugar or the Orange, probably to play USC (West). Auburn gets screwed out of the BCS and has to go to the Cotton, but I can live with that.

While I'd like FL to lose, I tend to agree with you, LG, I don't think they will. What can I say, we had our shot to control our own destiny & blew it. But short of that, I like your scenario & would take it right now if God offered it to me as a lock! As for you ...Willkommen zur grossen Orange!

Crikes! So what did I actually say?

And yeah, Rizzo, I suspect that no one on here would have a problem with my scenario. No problem whatsoever.

I dont really like your scenario myself. :) But, about your scenario, do you think IF auburn makes it to the SECCG and loses to UF, do you really think that they would get shunned and not make a BCS bowl at all? Nothing against UT, but I would think that AU with 2 losses including one at the SECCG would make a BCS bowl before a 1 loss UT. I guess it would be tough to pick, I dont really know how they would decide between AU and UT who would go.

One thing UF needs is for UGA to stop losing these stupid games....They need the SOS to help them.

I think UT would probably end up significantly higher in the BCS rankings for three reasons. First, the obvious: Auburn would be one behind them in the loss column. Second, UT's only loss would be a 1-point loss to Florida, which would at that point be through the roof SOS for UT. Third, UT would have beaten out of conference Cal, which should have some good SOS impact.

In my scenario, there is a strong likelihood that UT would beat out Auburn for the BCS at-large birth. If its Florida losing in the SECCG, then it would probably be very close between Florida and UT for the at-large spot. Pollsters would favor Florida because Florida beat UT and it would seem objectively unfair that UT benefits from losing the game to Florida and being shut out of the opportunity to lose in the SEC title game, but the computers would love UT at that point much more than Florida.
