ICYMI, Ty Chandler...

Hard not to blame him. Pruitt left Tennessee a mess and Chandler, who already played an undervalued position to the NFL, had an opportunity to play at a high powered offense for Mack Brown. Sam Howell was projected to be heisman candidate and 1st round pick at the time.

Granted, he likely would have ended up doing well under Huepel, but there was so much uncertainty at the time and who knew what the consequences would be for Tennessee.

I wish him well. If he wants to rep Tennessee and consuders himself a Vol, I forgive him.

I get it in Chandler's case.
Senior year, borderline NFL talent.
He figured the 2021 season would be a cluster, and that would have been a good bet prior to playing the games.
He went to play offense for an offensive team expected to be prolific.

I can't argue against his thinking, at the time.
He probably was looking at how rough it was for John Kelly in 2017. That was the kind of season people expected us to have.

When you quit the program, you leave your VFL status at the door.
