Heres mine: Why not set up "free clinics" in different areas around the country. These clinics seem to work in Calli. It would have to be cheaper in the long run than what they have come up with now. Let these clinics be used by people with no insurance!

Plus if anybody here remembers Cheec and Chong we could have commericals like, "Anyone having contact with Debbie Hempsey, go immediately to the free clinic, take it from me!"

Here's mine: Free but mandatory injections of Sodium Thiopental, Pancuronium Bromide, and Potassium Chloride for all liberals.

enact legal reforms including a loser-pays system to discourage frivolous lawsuits.

reform the VA medical system.

reform medicare and medicaid

expand the use of Medical Savings Accounts and allow them to carryover from one year to the next

encourage an "a la carte" pricing system

Give $1,000,000.00 to every citizen (legal criteria) at the date of birth. Draw interest on unused portion. Disperse for health insurance and/or education. until the age of 25. Allow left over amount to be used for home purchases, retirement accounts or small businesses start-ups.

This is radical, but ultimately cheaper than anything out there now.

good idea. but, how to "force" people to use the free clinic instead of the much higher cost but more convenient and also free to them because they don't pay anyway, emergency room?

also need to include

tort reform

tort reform

My agency uses a company called "CareHere", pretty much a free clinic for the sniffles and everyday stuff. It is available to all employees and their families who are covered under the agencie's insurance. Some prescriptions are available and there is no waiting.

I get online, make an appointment at one of 5 or six locations and go. Walk in and they're usually waiting for me. In and out in 15 minutes. Usually it's a nurse practitioner but occasionally there's an actual doctor there. It's pretty awesome.

And it's totally free for my family and me. You can choose to go to your own primary physician if you still want to, but why pay the deductable?
