Does any RB, WR alum (Gault, Jamal Lewis, etc) with pro experience have any desire to come back to UT and coach? Seeing Ken Norton, JR's name on recruits made me think this an how it affects recruiting.

just having playing experience alone does not make a good coach...

we want someone with some coaching experience.

and recruiting (aka ogeron), and mentoring, and fiery (aka kiffin and o), and intelligent, (aka Monte),

With Kiffin, Ed O and Monte we will be fine. You got to look at it this way. Fulmer didnt leave anything much so got to start over. Heck Fulmer didnt want the Cobb kid that went to Ky and he WANTED to play for Tenn.

Exactly. I think my Ken Norton example fits that bill. I was wondering more to the present (Peyton is still a few years off with that dream).

Recruits would respond to Kippy's experience/reputation when he is motivated to recruit. Having someone as a position coach with experience and credibility...fiery...do we have anyone that fits the bill?

Al Wilson is the best fit in terms of every part but experience.

The problem is that guys who are millionaires do not want to eat crap and be a low level coach starting out, but they are not qualified for a higher up job.

Pretty sure he never wanted to play for UT

I watched a little of the App. State game the other night, but I still don't know what kind of ST coach Dale Jones has been for them.

Probably doesn't have much of a name outside of UT or App St.

Anybody out there know anything?

I've always heard that Cobb was waiting for the UT offer that never came. Even if he didn't want to play for UT purely because he was in our backyard, do you think he really would have taken a UK offer over one from UT?

Incorrect. Cobb grew up a big UT fan. He very much wanted to play for UT early in the recruiting game. But as UT failed to recruit him he felt disrespected and it changed his opinion of playing for UT.

Jay Graham coaches at SClite, and has interviewed for the opening at Tenn.

Graham has interviewed? This is breaking news. Was he last night in Memphis? Hubbs says Graham has not interviewed yet...unconfirmed.

My appologies. I read on here this morning he had interviewed but there was no link.
