If Hook tore up his knee this late in the season, I assume it would affect his draft position, and therefore the $ of his first contract. For all the NFL $$$ he made coming back this season, he might have lost it all last night. I wonder if Spyre can do some NIL magic to make up for some of that? I have to think Hendon’s play this year brought in a lot of money to Spyre. It would be nice if they could take care of some of that lost income if he drops in the draft.

I’m sure Hooker had an insurance policy to cover serious injuries. I don’t know how they read though so it might not cover draft position difference. Has anyone ever read one that could shed some light?

He's probably being looked at as a 4th to 6th round pick. The bad games against Georgia and now South Carolina probably hurt his draft stock more than the injury.

Why is it so easy for some to be so charible with other people's money.
This is not the purpose of NIL.
As stated this is why players have insurance.
The School will cover the Medical bills.

The NIL is about advertising and name/image use. They aren't an insurance company. Most NFL caliber kids will have some kind of insurance, but let's be honest, I don't know that Hooker is NFL caliber. Great fit for this system, but I don't see him being at that level.

Not sure Id say he was bad last night. He was off on a lot of throws, but didn’t turn the ball over. 3 touchdowns. He played well enough to win if the defense wasn’t trash.

NIL is about enticing players to play in Knoxville. Hooker got paid NIL to stay and play here. NIL isn’t paying him for his name/image use if he went pro last year. Nico isn’t coming here because companies really want millions of advertising using his name or image. Our NIL paid him millions to come play football in Knoxville.

Overall, let’s just hope HH has a sprain and no tears in that knee.

Pro career or not, Hooker will be fine. College degree in hand, strong family support, strong faith, and I'm sure he's pocketed a sufficient amount of NIL cash to get his post college career started, much more so than your average college graduate.

The purpose of NIL is to be charitable towards high schoolers with other people’s money?

How did Spyre get the NIL money? -By asking for other people’s money. They don’t produce anything. They just ask us to give so they can give it to our players. I thought it would be nice for the money given to Spyre for our players to help HH after what may be a devastating injury.

The entire purpose of NIL is to give other people’s money to our players.

Why reward a guy that came back and led us to our best season in 20+ years when he lost millions last night? We need that money to pay high school kids!
Why even make a thread on here if you’re going to individually reply to everyone who posts telling them why they’re wrong and you’re right? Maybe take a break from the internet for a few days.
