I'm 27 and have been following the Vols since high school (moved here from Texas). So I haven’t been around for too many classes. But, I know one thing, this year’s Defensive line class is looking like one of the best in not only Tennessee's history but maybe in NCAA history. Of course some things would have to happen but it's looking more and more like Tennessee has a few more guys they plan to add to this year’s class.

Current Commitments:
***** Jacques Smith (VOL Commit and VOL LOCK)
**** Corey Miller (VOL Commit and VOL LOCK)
**** Brandon Willis (VOL Commit and VOL LOCK)
**** JC Copeland (VOL Commit)
**** Pat Harris (VOL Commit)
**** John Brown (VOL Commit, but will he qualify?)
*** Risean Broussard (VOL Commit, but will he qualify and/or stay with UT? Is the interest still mutual?)

(did not include Delvin Jones because he will probably be a TE and he may not even stick with UT in the end...)

After reading Sabs recent blog,

Briefly on Calvin Smith and Corey Lemonier, they are all but destined to wind up at the same school and that will either be Tennessee or Illinois.

.....in addition to some Rivals insider articles about Smith,

"Tennessee has been recruiting me real heavy," Smith said. "Illinois is the other one. Those are my top two. It's mainly down to them. They are the ones that will make it in the end. Florida State has kind of fallen off with me now."

I’m starting to feel more and more confident that we land two more 4 star commits in both Calvin Smith and Corey Lemonier.

Lastly, we lost the commitment of 5 star prospectBruce Irvin to ASU, but don't be surprised if Tennessee re-secured his commitment by NSD. I think this one comes down to, if Tennessee wants him, they'll get him.

In the end, I think our DL class looks like this:

***** Jacques Smith
***** Bruce Irvin
**** Corey Miller
**** Brandon Willis
**** JC Copeland
**** Calvin Smith
**** Corey Lemonier
**** Pat Harris

What do you guys think, those of you that have been around long enough to accurately answer the question... Could this DL class be the best in UT history?

Yes I think it could be the best DL class Tennessee has ever signed.

Also, I'm still under the impression Calvin Smith is on "hold". I just dont think they would accept a commitment from him right now.

I think they still have hope with guys like Quarles, Whitaker, etc...

Has potential to be, not only the best in Tennessee history, but also the best in the history of the universe.

First, shouldnt the slants against MHF be deleted? The same type jabs thrown at Sab got deleted so why are his not deleted towards others?

Just sayin.

Second, Its going to be hard to sign a DL class better than Haynesworth/Henderson combo. Dont remember who else would have been in that class but does it matter?

Sorry but none of those DTs are 5* caliber. I always thought 5* meant blue chip and elite. Those guys are not.

Yea, I figured that would have been one of the best DL classes in some time. But wasnt around of it so I, A) wasn't sure it was the best, and B) am unaware of the other signees and their talent/rating as a prospect.

This class does however lack that Henderson/Hanesworth type top 3 talent in the class. I wonder if they have an ace up their sleeve?
