If it's close, LSU should definitely get the AP. If it's by two scores or more, it probably won't get split.

Personally, if this game happens it will show how the system utterly blows...Alabama will basically get a "Bye" into the big game while LSU still has to play a game they could conceivably lose (don't think they will, but it could happen).

I say declare LSU SEC champion and make Bama play Georgia for the right to play in the NC game. :)

Even if this was a possible scenario, Georgia definitely doesn't deserve to play for the NC.

IMO if LSU beats UGA their should not be a national title game this year, LSU should be crowned champion because they really have nothing else to prove, they already beat Bama once as well as played one of the toughest schedules in the country.

I hope it was obvious I was being facetious...

But it really is nuts that a team can lose and get a shortcut to the NC game and the the team that beat them has to play in effect an extra game.

The winner gets no worse than a share, since they have to be crowned champion of the coaches poll.

If Bama wins a close game, the AP might still be inclined to keep LSU at #1.

What a mess that'd be...I hate the BCS.

If LSU lost, they would still have the better record because of an extra win in the SEC Champ game. What an utterly ridiculous conundrum. The only solution, imo, is to abolish the Alabama football program and never let them play another game as long as the earth is spinning. Seems fair to me.

And I actually felt a little sorry for ut when they got beat sat by a sorry ky team with a high school qb and the season was ending without a bowl game and really nothing to look forward to with a coach like dooley. :no:
