He said if weis gets fired he thinks meyer would take the job. he told me when the job was open at notre dame, urban wanted the job. he turned it down because his wife didn't want to move because of the kids. now they are older (one in college, and the other a senior in hs). My neighbor believes if urban wanted the job, it's his. You all are probably sick of these type of threads, but it's something to think about. i'd be happy if he left.

so he and his wife were willing to move to Gainesville the last time the ND job was open, but not South Bend? That makes sense. He took the UF because, just like he even admitted, he knew he could turn UF around much quicker. Now that Weiss has brought in some talent to ND, I think Meyer would give it a thought, but I don't expect him to go anywhere.

I'd love it. Unfortunately Meyer has a rare trait not seen very often. His brains are bigger than his ego....and his ego is huge!

I could see it if he wins the national championship again this year. 2 titles at one school.... heck 1 title is good enough... he'll have reached the ceiling. Maybe he would want a change and try to do it again. Really would depend on how he likes it there - his daughter is going off to college next year (not sure if he has any other kids) - so it wouldn't really affect her in moving schools.

Meyer won't leave, and Notre Dame is never going to return to glory. It's over. They're about a decade late in dumping the NBC contract and joining the Big Ten.
