If Gillespie is gone, which recruits follow him?

That makes the assumption that Billy Clyde will be coaching somewhere else next year if he's out at UK.

True. However, Daniel Orton's dad has given an interview about the situation. He stated that he has placed 4 calls with Mitch Barnhardt, with none returned by the UK AD. He wants an explanation of whats going on, and a verbal promise from Mitch that Gillispie is coming back, because thats the coach he wants to play for.

He did state that they would talk to the new coach if this happened, but that more than likely they would lean toward re-opening their recruitment for his son.

Assuming UK lets him out of his LOI, which is usually the case when a coach departs in this fashion.

Jon Hood I THINK will come anyway, being a Kentucky boy. although, this is only my opinion, no news to back it up.

I went to get the link for the story with Ortons dad, but WCN is down and thats where the link is posted.

Yeah - I'd be surprised to see Hood decommit - not familiar enough with the others.

yeah, agreed on Hood. You can see above what I wrote about Orton. As far as the point guard Vilarino goes, I know Billy has been "recruiting" him for years, and was a personal project so to speak. Vilarino seems tied to BCG, not Kentucky. would not suprise me one bit to see him back out.

The JUCO point guard that just signed (Konner Tucker) has Kentucky ties to laurel county. I don't see him leaving, as he is lucky to be playing at Kentucky.... compared to the rest of his offers he recieved. Although Billy D (or whoever the coach is) could possibly try to persuade him to de-commit.

Looking ahead a bit, I kinda have the feeling we will end up losing Ferguson from the 10' class as well.

I think Ferguson decommits. The November signees are another animal, though, because your next coach will get the chance to convince them to stay.

As for Tucker, he is a commitment and not a signee, so your next coach could just refuse to honor the commitment or just "advise" him that it's a bad fit.

Tom Crean, Rick Pitino, and Thad Matta are salivating at the prospects of getting to take another run at Dominique Ferguson.

thats right, Tucker has only committed. that slipped my mind. As BAD as kentucky needs a point guard, I would hope that he or Vilarino stays, however neither of them are a guaranteed lock to even have what it takes to play PG at the D1 level.

I don't want to lose Orton or Ferguson, but quite honestly I would not mind wiping out most of the other commits and starting over. Euton, Zollo, ect.

Although I could be wrong on them.
