Donald Trump for the first time on Saturday said he would have been OK if he lost the 2020 election fairly as he spoke for nearly two hours to thousands of supporters at an election integrity event in Phoenix.

'I've got to tell you, I've got to say it. I've never said it before, but I've always thought it – If I lost the election, I'm OK with that. I'm OK with it. Seriously,' the former president said.

The former president, however, said he knows that he didn't lose and therefore wants an investigation that proves so.

He questioned why Democrats – and some Republican defectors – don't want an audit just to prove that they won fair and square.

Maricopa County has been at ground zero in the last three months for Trump's recount efforts.

Trump also took aim at Hunter Biden's artistic endeavours, claiming selling his pieces are a 'bribe' by purchasers to gain favor with President Joe Biden.

'It's a bribe, it's disgraceful and the fake news media is talking about it like it's OK,' he accused.

While Gosar spoke, he introduced Ashli Babbitt's mom, Michelle Witthoeft, who was attending the rally.

Babbitt, 35, was killed on January 6, 2021 by a Capitol Police Officer who shot her as she attempted to break through the House chamber doors with a group of rioters who stormed the complex in an attempt to stop Congress for certifying the election results for Biden.

'Who killed Ashli Babbitt?' Gosar questioned, pleading, 'I want you to hold your applause for one second,' before introducing his guest.

The late Air Force veteran's mother was holding a poster with an image of Babbitt in front of the Capitol and donning a shirt that read 'Justice for Ashli'. Witthoeft was joined by another woman, who remained unidentified, but was holding up a poster with Babbitt's face on it.

I've lost track of the number of times I've been reminded, here especially, that "life isn't fair; suck it up." Lost jobs. Lost opportunities. Lost limbs. And it's been good advice.

And yet this guy gets his own apologetics movement. Yeesh.

^^^^ This is the most dishonest sentiment being touted by advocates of the Cyber Ninjas "audit" currently taking place in Maricopa County, Arizona.

There already was a hand recount audit completed by both of the political parties with accuracy tests also performed in Maricopa County after the 2020 Presidential General Election. There were also two forensic audits conducted by SLI Compliance and Pro V&V in February to ensure the accuracy of the federally and state certified hardware and software used to count votes.

There have been multiple audits. There have been multiple hand recounts. The voting tabulations from the 2020 Presidential General Election in Maricopa County, Arizona had already been scrutinized to an unprecedented extent before this latest effort by the "Cyber Ninjas" even began. These audits are ongoing because Senators in the Republican-controlled Arizona State Legislature have not yet obtained confirmation of their desired conclusion. That is where the "Cyber Ninjas" come into play. Those Arizona State Senators hand-picked Doug Logan's company because Logan publicly announced his own determination in December (without ever providing any proof in support of his claims) that the outcome of the 2020 Presidential General Election in Arizona was invalid due to widespread voter fraud in Maricopa County, and that Donald Trump was the true winner of both the state and of the entire election itself. Logan had obviously reached that conclusion long before his company's audit had even started.

Finally, why was Ken Bennett, a former Arizona Secretary of State and a Republican, who was working as a liaison between this latest audit and the Arizona State Legislature recently banned from the building where the "Cyber Ninjas" are conducting their "audit"? Apparently, it's just because Bennett was doing his job. It looks like Ken Bennett (who is once again, a Republican) was banned for simply sharing data with Republican members of the Arizona State Legislature which ran counter to their preferred conclusion that Donald Trump was cheated. The data that Bennett shared evidently confirms that the voting tabulations certified several months ago were accurate and valid.

The outcome of the election has already been proven to have been "fair and square"... but that is not what Republicans want. There is nothing wrong with audits, but they have already been done. The "Cyber Ninjas" audit currently ongoing is nothing but a sham.

... and Ashli Babbitt is being shown a level of sympathy from the Republican side, which would never be accorded to a "Black Lives Matter" protestor, after being shot during a forcible mass incursion onto federal property. It's a clear double standard.

The people who believe this crap and promote Trump's nonsense cannot be saved. Just let them go. Beware they don't do something really stupid again, like 1/6. But give up on trying to convince them that Trump is lying to them.

^^^^ The lunatic fringe of the Republican Party has become the new normal for them. This is typical of what that party has devolved into. They're just a bunch of loonies.

Both sides have lunatic fringes. It's not a Republican only issue. Social media just gives the fringe element on both sides all the misinformation they need plus a louder megaphone than they deserve...

At what point does the GOP give up on this guy and reform itself to something productive with a future, not built simply on exploiting resentment?

A bunch of loonies? How is that?

The radical fringe right and the radical fringe left both track closely to the markers for cult inculcation:
  1. Theirs is the one true way or leader, all others lead to failure
  2. Information must only come from sanctioned, approved sources and can't be questioned
  3. "Wake up", "Open your eyes", "Do your own research", and other trigger phrases are used when pointing others towards cult material
  4. Recruiting others is a necessity for the rank and file
  5. Promise of utopia or paradise for the most ardent of adherents
  6. There can be no deep questioning, criticism, or disagreement
  7. Those who disagree must be labeled, outgrouped, and shunned.
The radical left currently follows a cult of philosophy, the radical right currently follows a cult of personality.
