It was a old joke used to describe another school (don't even remember who it was), and Auburn fans jumped on it and inserted LSU into the formula for the corndog story.

It was an old joke about Iowa State made by Oklahoma State. Iowa produces corn and hogs, the corndog is their local cuisine. So a joke about Iowa fans smelling like corndogs was funny.

Some stupid Barner plagiarized it, changed Iowa to LSU and they get a big charge out of it. But as pointed out above LSU tailgaiting involves jamabalya, gumbo, crawfish, smoked cajun sausage, etc. and does not include corndogs. So the joke isn't funny. We are embarassed for them.
