Who takes his place? My general line of thinking was either slide McDonald back to SS and Walker/Slaughter in at STAR or probably Walker at SS. Seems like Slaughter has been used more out of the 2 but haven't really paid attention to them.

Not sure what's going on with Deniko. He was a much better prospect than Walker coming out of HS.
He was starting at Nickelback as a true freshman.

As the guy said on the 247 podcast, it really doesn’t matter because from a physical standpoint, we aren’t going to be any worse off. I’m hopeful that someone steps up and shows out that is just getting a grasp on the alignments, which is where JM has an advantage over the others.

I’ve been wondering this. I thought Slaughter was going to be a complete stud, and was impressed with several of the plays he made last year. But this year I’ve seen him on kickoff coverage and that’s about it.

I remember him getting torched by shy smith against South Carolina in his first game. Tough assignment to give a freshman, but I really thought he’d be playing more at this point considering he got the start freshman year

Looks like they keep moving him around. Went from nickel to safety. I guess with Flowers and Mccollough starting there he’s just waiting his turn.

what is this "if he doesn't play?" there is no way Heupel can let him play at this point, unless the guy that called the police says he got drunk and fell down those stairs on his own, then he cannot play until this is cleared up. TN is not FL from the 90's where Spurrier could make things go away for TN week, there is just too much visibility these days.

Heupel in the past has immediately suspended players who got in trouble. He didn't this time.

You could read into that. Potentially the truth is considerably different than remembered by the guy who was very drunk and had a concussion.

Willie Martinez happened to Turnage (Martinez doesnt have a clue) thats why his position that he coaches is the WORST on the team. Its not the players as the defensive backs are playing the same way when he coached the secondary here under Lyle Jones aka Butchy the Band Director.....

Our Dline and LBs look to have a certain direction and rotation... Our secondary direction is a head scratcher especially at safety with Flowers and JM playing so much even in mop up time
