he should tell Melvin Goins not to bother trying to get here in July and go after Lamont Jones full force, now that Momo is asking out of his USC LOI.

It's more about sucking them in.

Exactly. It's not like Steve Smith is some player development maven. They cherry pick the best players in the country. Give me a seven figure budget and a Nike deal and I can put a bunch of guys in D-I running classes on the pool deck at my condo.

Would we have a realistic chance of getting this kid? Im sure he is good being from Oak Hill, but would he give us a sniff?

True. That team a few years ago that had Michael Beasley, Ty Lawson, Nolan Smith, Landon Milbourne, etc., could have beaten some big time college programs.
The same could be said for the group that had Josh Smith, Rajon Rondo, K.C. Rivers, and at the time, Dayshawn Wright and Brian Johnson were considered solid prospects.

True story. Take a kid for a year and they basically put their name on his.
But still...

I can't see why he wouldn't. Pretty sure the idea of competing with Bobby Maze for playing time wouldn't scare him.

Phil's scholly is going away as soon as Tyler chooses to stay. Pearl won't get rid of Goins after not even having him on campus. I was thinking more along the lines of JP. He doesn't really need to be cut. His family can afford (easily) to pay for his education.

If Tyler stays in the draft, I believe allowing Jurick to go find somewhere he can actually play would be sufficient.

Well if Jurick left and Tyler left it would be perfect for going after this kid. But I don't think it's gonna go down like that.

Something tells me that JP will be on our roster until he decides otherwise...

I wasn't suggesting removing him from the roster. I was suggesting asking him (telling him) to be a 'walk on' to open up the spot for a competent PG.

Ahhh...I was thinking that was probably not gonna happen...

geez you guys are buhrutal. Anyone who doesnt play as well as kobe or lebron just needs to get the heck out of here so we can recruit some good kids that wont play up to our standards so we can run them out of town to make room for great players that when they dont reach the final four we can tell CBP to get rid of them to make space for awesome players that wont...............If I were a top prospect five seconds on this board would have me playing for Texas over Tn.

If you were a top prospect, you wouldn't give a damn who was told to leave.
