Just an interesting re-ordering of the current top 25 BCS teams as the computers would have it (remember high and low computer poll average is thrown out to get these numbers). One of the computer polls has Washington State only 4 spots behind UT!! Luckily...the aggregate doesn't.

1) Michigan
2) Ohio State
3) California
4) Florida
5) Notre Dame
6) USC
7) Auburn
8) Rutgers
9) Louisville
10) Tennessee
11) Boise State
12) Texas
13) West Virginia
14) Arkansas
15) Wisconsin
16) Boston College
17) Washington State
18) Georgia Tech
19) Oregon
20) Clemson
21) Oklahoma
23) Texas A&M
24) LSU
28) Virginia Tech
Not Ranked: Wake Forest

Keep in mind that the computers are formula driven, so the only inputs they have are the to date performance. It doesn't account for what we think will happen or where we "had them preseason."

The only valid comparison to the human polls is when all of the evidence is in after 12 games.

I think that these polls would get a better picture if they also included all unplayed games on the schedule.

I think by adding a fifth game, the BCS is really trying to pull the wool over our eyes now by saying, lets increase revenue and create yet another problem.

I would be willing to tolerate the shenanigans if the fifth game was a match of consensus one and two ranked teams AFTER the four BCS games were played.

It's still screwy. I personally liked the old bowl system better than the BCS.
Amen to that. I would love for them to go back to the old Bowl Alliance. If you had a split national championship then you argued about it in the off-season and then got over it. They tried to fix something that wasn't broke and screwed up. Leave well enough alone.

Anything other than a playoff is pathetic.

If you don't have a playoff, you're essentially playing all year for the heck of it with no winners. It's like a series of games for charity.

No. If you have a playoff you are essentially making the season not matter. If you had a playoff the Ohio St. vs. Texas game wouldn't have been that big of a deal because the loser could still make the playoff. Same deal with the OSU vs. Mich. game. Having a playoff would ruin college football as we know it. Teams would be playing to make the playoffs instead of playing to make the NC game. Also, how would they decide who plays in the playoff?

There's no reason for Cal, ND, Rutgers, and Louisville to have a better computer average than UT.

I think the biggest suprises are:

Cal at number 3 (3!!! are you kidding me??)
Notre Dame at number 5 (ahead of both UTs..the real and fake)
And Rutgers at number 8 (top 10, really?)

If would really like to know what goes into these computer polls. I am guessing that points scored or margin of victory must mean a lot for Cal to be at number 3.

Actually, with Cal and ND being so highly ranked, maybe receiving a pathetic beatdown actually gives you a bump. Rutgers may want to consider laying down for WV or Louisville...they'll go to the NCG. :birgits_giggle:

Why does everyone who supports the BCS say that a playoff system would devalue the regular season?? You have to win to get in....Does it devalue the regular season in Div 1-AA, II, and III? What about other sports? Are you seriously going to stop watching regular season games because there is a playoff? I think not!
