I'd take Louisville and UCONN and let everyone else have the rest of the field.

A lot of people here in "Cat" country are downplaying UL. I think they will be a scary team to play.

I agree Hat, those 2 are some powerhouses. Hat, what are your thoughts on Duke? Do you think they are better than last year team? TIA.

They're better, but I still don't think they're a threat to win it all.

Good choices.

Based on current play,I would have to go with
the Tar Heels and Blue Devils.Solid teams on all levels of play.

About this time last year, I'd have taken the Vols.

Too bad for us they don't play the tourney in March.

Those are probably the only 2 teams that even deserve to play in the tourney this year.. not too many teams that standout like that... UNC, Duke, Wake are good but they would get hammered by those two teams

this season is a great opportunity for a cinderalla story, but not that it could even be called that this season.

Tennessee would have had no shot of winning the NCAA Tournament last year regardless of when it started.

And I'll take UNC and Pitt. I like my chances just as well as I do yours.

I know stat boy thinks the Big East sucks, but they have 3 of the top 4 teams I'm the country. Duke might break in, but they've been able to hide their awful interior this far. UNC will blow a hole in them.

I gotta go with UNC and Pitt, as well.

I've still got some reservations about Pitt's ability to score against quality defenses.

Big east is quite good. There is a difference b/w being 'overvalued' and 'sucking'.

I don't buy 3 of the top 4 teams though. I'm not sold on Pitt yet, and while I like Uconn and think louisville is looking great right now(this thread's gist), I have little doubt UNC and another team, if not more, will jump into that top 4.

UNC is in the top 4, along with 3 from the Big East.

No argument, but it's going to be hard to score on them too.

The days when Thabeet shows, UConn is a monster. Others, they're not.

Ellington getting some confidence back makes UNC tough to deal with again. Their D is better when they're playing well. Makes no sense with a good coach on board, but it's who they are.

Without Ginyard they don't have any lock down defenders.

I think you are overvaluing Roy. IMO he's as nuch to blame for their struggles as anyone.

If I could have any two teams, I'd take UCONN and Duke right now. However, I expect Louisville to be the team to beat come March.

You're not sold on Pitt, yet you've been singing West Virginia's praises. Interesting.

That was a disappointing game by west va. today, but I'll give Pitt credit, they got their looks down low and let ruoff try to find his groove(still not there, by the by).

Bryant always shows nice flashes of their future, but like many freshmen this year he just tends to lack that 'click' that puts it all together with any consistency. He was pretty disappointing today on all fronts.

At a certain point I'm just gonna give up on ruoff putting it all back together again.

Wake Forest is going no further than the Sweet 16. Period.

Ya, it's a tournament notrious for upsets and in a string of 3 games a better team can lose to an inferior opponent. It's certainly possible they don't get past the sweet 16. But I think they will make it past there, Comma, assuming they play at a level commensurate with their general abilities; Semi-Colon which of course is never always the case in sports. Period Which is why we watch them in part, No? Question mark.

Most people here know there is no bigger Bob Huggins fan than I. That said, with Mazzula out and Ruoff still not 100%, West Virginia is a team that is going to struggle to score against anyone that plays good defense. Making the NCAA Tournament will be a nice accomplishment for that roster.
