I know we look alot into what star a recruit is rated, and that is fine, but boise st never blows the doors off recruiting. They just showed chris peterson's record on espn, 8 loses in 7 years and a .912%! I know they are in a smaller conference, but they usually play and beat 2 bigger schools each year. It's in the coaching, if jones can coach our payers up I'm not saying he'll have this kind of record, just we don't have to be upset if he doesn't sign a whole class of 4 & 5 stars.

Overrated..........its easy to have only 8 loses when your playing teams like "New Mexico St." year after year.

Georgia, michigan st, oklahoma, virginia tech, I know they don't play all year long but they do play them. Nobody else in their conference has that kind of record, and they play the same schools. Coaching up lower rated players make the difference.

Chris Peterson has a .912 winning % which is pretty amazing.

Nick Saban has a .826 % at Bama.

One of these coaches is widely considered the best coach in the NCAA. Guess which one????

Apples to oranges, however, I would have been happy to have Peterson here.

Is it easy to win bowl game after bowl game? Was it easy beating Oklahoma in a BCS game when they definitely had a top-5 team? Boise State is pushing Washington around in a bowl game right now as we speak.

Boise State begs the big schools to play them every year, and they are all scared. They preach speed everywhere and hard-nosed defense. If it's that easy, why aren't there more teams out there like Boise ST? It's not easy winning 10 Division-IA games year after year regardless of what conference you are in.

What was Washington score vs LSU this year? like 44-3

I know that is why this thread was started...because Boise St. is beating Washington in there bowl game right now

Hate to say it, look where Bama, Lsu, Dogs, Sc where there class was rated, If Boise State was in the SEC, still recruiting the same players as they are now, they would be a 7 and 5 team at best.

I was just thinking the same thing. They'd basically be Mississippi State - a 7 win program that occasionally sneaks up on a 9 win season. Peterson can obviously coach his ass off, but I don't think anybody's odds are good when they're out talented half the time they play.

Boise beat Georgia easily last year ... at Georgia. So, last year, they are by far the best team in the SEC East. Based on the logic above, what does that make Georgia. Worst yet, what does that make us?

The lesson is to play big ganes with an entire offseason to prepare or an entire month.

Would love to see what boise could do against something like Tennessee's october schedule

I started the thread because thats pretty impressive! Regardless of the conference because tey do play te bcs schools each year 1-2 times and usually win. Plus the point that he beats the big boys with mostly 3 star recruits

recruit like Boise and go against other monster programs in the SEC week in and week out? good luck with that.

One more thing worth mentioning is his "3-star recruits" are more and more often playing on Sundays. If that's average talent, I'll take it!

I'd bet they're maybe a game or two over .500 against BCS schools in the last 5 years.

I may be wrong but I think michigan state is the only bcs school to beat them in the past 4 yr's, since the oklahoma game I think, and boise won that

I'm saying jones will get some 4-5 star recruits. If he can coach up the others the way peterson has we can be good. Coaching has made the difference at boise.

He does get a few that really blossom late. There are several Boise players in the NFL. But most of them are fringe type around the edges players. Pro Bowl roster usually doesn't have many from Boise. The Titans have a 7th round pick from there who make pro bowl returning kicks.

Remember the Boise dude who proposed to the cheerleader right after winning bowl game? He never could catch on anywhere in the league.

I have wondered about him, he played great at the college level those past couple of years

I just looked it up and Boise St. out recruits most if not all the teams in the Big East, year after year they rank between 60-65.

So they're basically a Big East school in the Mountian West Conference.

I really hope Boise Joins the Big East next year...

So we can find out if they are overrated, and are a product of playing in a weak weak Weak conference. (Like I belive)

or If they are really that good, and Chris Peterson is a genius.

Wasn't they supposed to join the big east next year and backed out?
