If This Does Not Get You Fired Up Nothing Will

It's really neat to see that in person. Then a few seconds later you think to yourself "This feels so . . . Auburn."

yeah but it was just beautiful.
the only depressing thing is that was at the florida game this year.:cray:

this was a post off of youtube about why UT had the eagle

what you just saw was no attempt by UT to steal an Auburn tradition. A non-profit preservation society that is trying to keep the bald eagle from going extinct was on hand to promote their cause through a symbolic demonstration in front of 108,000 people. I hope you don't think your tradition is more important than the bald eagle species itself.

Was that Challenger? I think he was injured and cannot survive in the wild so he lives at Dollywood now. I think he was at the UGA game last year. Usually, one game per year I think???

Yup. Tennessee is 1-2 with Challenger in attendance as far as I can remember. They won the Mississippi St game in 03, Can't remember if he was there in 04, then they lost to Georgia in 05 and Florida in 06.

Funny thing is I went to the Florida/Auburn game with a gator friend of mine, the entire weekend we set out to find out what the freaking story was behind "War Eagle" (their war cry, but also how they greet each other and tell each other bye) and lo and behold, out of the entire weekend and the dozens upon dozens of renditions we heard; none matched up. They don't have a clue. We got some reasonable stories from some older alum, most being something like they were losing to GA way back when, and an eagle started flying over the game, then kamikazi'd its way to the 50 yd line, after they removed the bird, Auburn came back and won the game, hence War Eagle.....
