Just saw ESPN talking about it, but couldn't hear what they were saying. If Texas were to screw up and blow their chances, who should get the nod? TCU, Cinci, and Boise are all sitting undefeated at 4,5, and 6 right now.

I can see that, they've been knocking at the door to get in a for a while now. Of course, they don't have many challenges each year, but If it came down to it, I'd like to see them given the chance to put up or shutup.

I want to see Boise in it and then watch them get embarassed by Florida/Bama. Maybe that will stop nonstop love fest with them.

The fact TCU smashed Boise's face in less than 12 months ago should end any debate between them.
I understand your point, but I don't think last season should have any affect on this year. However, Boise hasn't looked as impressive and the Oregon win looks even less impressive now.

Who do you like between Cincy and TCU?

I actually think Cincy is pretty good this year, but their resume still doesn't look all that impressive.

TCU would beat Cincinnati.

If all three teams (Boise, Cincinnati, and TCU) win out, Cincinnati would have by far the better body of work.

I think they would beat TCU, but not by a ton. Either one would beat Boise.

Uh, perhaps you've never heard of the statue of liberty play. It is unstoppable and guarantees Bronco victory.

Not so sure I would agree with that. I think beating BYU and Utah is at least as good as any Cincy accomplishment.

TCU's defense is ridiculously good. They would give Bama or UF all they could handle. My bet would be TCU still loses though.

BYU and Utah are both better than anyone Cincinnati will have beaten. For that matter, Clemson is as good as anyone else in the Big East.

As Lou Holtz would confirm....

the obvious choice is Notre Dame. :)

As for the actual argument, its a good one. Cinci will run the table in a "BCS" conference, so voters will take that into account in the end. (even though the conference is crappy) TCU and Boise will do all they can by beating inferior competition to a pulp.

I think its either Cinci or TCU. My heart/gut would want to see TCU, which I think is the better team.

I'll give you Utah and BYU, but I wouldn't agree on Clemson. Besides, each team has played nine games to this point.

The Big East isn't anything special, but I'd still say that the bottom of the conference (Syracuse and Louisville) would be ahead of at least five Mountain West teams and a 50-50 shot on Air Force.

Cincinnati's OOC schedule is Oregon State, Fresno State, Illinois (not yet played), and Southeast Missouri. TCU is Virginia, Clemson, SMU, and something called Texas State-San Marcos. They play in a conference that is stronger top-to-bottom. That'll get them the computer points, and it would probably be by a wider margin than could be made up by the human polls.

If they met head-to-head, it'd be one hell of a game. Remember a few years back when Boise and Louisville met with a combined record of 23-1 or something going in?

Pittsburgh is the second best team in the Big East. Take a look at who their loss is to. The Big East is utter trash.

I posted something to this effect about a month ago, but if TCU wins out, they have to be next in line behind whoever loses between Texas and Florida/Alabama. The Mountain West is absolutely a better conference than the Big East (and possibly as good as the Big Ten and ACC, too).

The last time Alabama tried to embarrass an inferior non-BCS undefeated team in a BCS game it didn't go so well. I want the same result this time. I want Florida or Alabama to lose to anyone they play. Conference pride ends when it comes to our two biggest rivals. As for my vote: TCU. Mack Brown is afraid of TCU getting to the title game and winning too. Apparently.

I'm really pulling for a TX loss because the thought of a TCU/Flori-Bammer NC is certainly intriguing.
