Though he says he never will, if Urban was to leave Florida and bolt for Notre Dame, which after this year, may happen, who do you think Florida would look at as a coach? Who could continue what Florida has done? Any ideas? I know it's a hypothetical, and almost pointless thread, but I think it's neat to see who people think could get business done in the SEC, especially at a place like Florida.

This might have been better placed in the NCAA forum rather than the UT Football forum.

They might steal another Utah coach making them go postal:birgits_giggle::birgits_giggle:

Sorry. I'm not sure how to move it. I guess it people wanna post on it, they will, if not, it'll just go ignored and never be brought up again. just thought it'd be a interesting topic to get started.

He didn't say he would never leave. He said he's not going to leave to then go to ND. He'll eventually leave -- too young and successful not to. But my guess is he heads to the NFL.

I hope they give Charlie Strong a shot.

It's relevant to Tennessee...

I'd suggest Dan Mullen if he does well in the intervening time.

I'd be curious to see what Paul Johnson could do with a recruiting base of Florida.

I believe VD was saying it is being discussed in the NCAA forum. No biggie

You really think his coaching style would translate well to the NFL?

I don’t have a problem with the topic. I think it is worthy of discussion and should be placed in the proper forum to garner greater interest. Just like if I wanted to discuss Obama’s speech last night I would start a thread in the political forum where there are people who want to talk politics and not the UT Football forum.

who cares what else is there to talk about right now

There are about 19 Forums covering almost any topic with hundreds of active Threads going. If you can’t find something to talk about, well I am afraid that is your problem and not ours.

It better be Charlie Strong unless they want a frothing Spencer Tillman on their case.

It would be interesting to see if Stoops would come back to UF.

While this seems very unlikely, I could see him justifying it because who ever wins the SEC generally plays in the bcs title game.

Florida would almost certainly promote from within. Strong seems like their logical choice.

IMO Strong must be a horrible interviewer because he could be a good HC at the right place...He could fit in good at UF, as a matter of fact didn't we interview him AND Mullen? I must say I'm glad we didn't get either of them and went with Kiffin but if I had my pick between Mullen and Strong, I think I would take Strong
