You can't use the talent excuse anymore. If we lose one of those games full butch no more. Maybe 90% Butch, bit not full Butch. I hope he doesn't turn out to be just a recruiter and not a coach. I think he will get it done, but people that even take a shot at him get bashed. He deserves criticism IMO. Talent killed us yes, but it was still a poorly coached game.

people will always use this because they refuse to see the truth. so far jones has showed he can recruit with the best coaches in the country. he has also proven that so far he is not an sec coach yet. we could lose both games. looked to me today like the team has had enough and ready to pack it in for the year.

Guys,
Likely this team knows, deep down, they cannot compete with teams consistently ranked in the top 10. Not many teams can week in and out. I cannot remember a schedule like this.

My point, this team wants to get to the last 2 games where they have a chance to win AND go bowling. I can understand how futile they must feel. My guess is they, right or wrong, circled the last 2 games after the USC win and are just trying to get better until they play.

Yeah, I hate losing these past few weeks and looking so horrible in the process. It's tough to see us getting better from here, but I can maybe buy the argument that this is a tough stretch and these are just growing pains enough to have hope for the future.

But, if they lose to Vanderbilt (losing at home to an in-state rival with less talent coming off a bye week with a bowl game on the line) then I can't possibly excuse it and I can't possibly imagine thinking Butch is the right guy for the job.

The measure if any Tennessee coach extends beyond the usual heavyweights. If you can't beat Vanderbilt or Kentucky then your time is seriously, seriously limited.

I'm not sure many on this team want to deal with the additional practices associated with a bowl game. We have a culture problem that is going to take a while to correct.

For the 4th highest paid college football coach, this is unacceptable.

I agree and I shouldn't post for 72 hrs at least, cause right now I'm convinced, 100% that we lose both games and finish 4-8.

So, KBVol, I'm curious - do you think this team improved over the course of this season? Do you think Jones is getting the most out of his players?

Tend to agree with this. Vandy and KY can't out-talent us.

Motivation is going to be the key.

Vandy is going to come in sky-high, it will be tough for us to match their intensity. CBJ has a real task getting these guys fired up to play.

Ok...this just in. Three buses have been filled with Band Wagoners....heading out of town as we speak. Been told 3 more are queuing now....chop-chop.

PS....let the driver know when you want to be picked up next year... RSVP: after 1 win, 2 wins, 3 wins, ect. We'll keep the light on for you.

It does seem like our D is easily affected and kinda gives up if the opponent gets a couple TDs on them. But, against GA they were down 17-0 and they allowed us to come back from that deficit. It's just inconsistency I guess. You never know when they're gonna show up.

Kentucky is a win, but Vandy might be a 55/45 game for us.

Key game this year will be Vanderbilt, oddly enough. You get a win there, and you'll see a total change in how this board views this year.
