It completely depends on how we fare in the rest of our games. Looking at our schedule, at this point, I'd be happy with a 4 or a 5. A 3 would take some serious work.

Oh, and I think we match up pretty well with Texas and Florida.

Best wait on 2/22 to include Florida in that statement. :ill_h4h:

are u hating on ut or on uf with that statement law? i remember u hatin on ut before we beat u the first time and u may be hatin again. even if u beat us at gainesville, we beat u once. we match up well with u guys, as for texas, it depends. we shot ungodly that game and 2 of their key players were out, well gibson was out for 3/4 of the game.

Whether we win or lose in the O-dome doesn't really indicate how well we match up /w the Gators in the Tourney on a neutral court...

Mmmmmm.... on UT.

I agree with the next comment after yours that you can't figure out how it would work out on a neutral court, even if we beat you soundly in Gainesville in a few weeks.

Tell you what. How about we agree to find out in the Elite Eight game with a final Four spot on the line. Deal?

I think Tennessee matches up well with Florida. They have done beat Florida once. Then Tennessee also did something Florida couldnt do, that is beat South Carolina. I think that even if Tennessee loses in Florida if they play them in the tournament they will beat them. Florida is overrated big time!

UT has 9 games left

5 at home
4 on the road

4-1 home
2-2 on road and UT is a 5 seed

I read somewhere on espn.com that if the tourney began today we would be a 3 seed, which I agree with if it started today. But I think we will lose 4-5 more games before the tourney and end up at a 5 or 6 seed in which case I would rather be a 6 seed because every year a 12 seed beats a 5.

I honestly don't see us losing at home. Unless UK has really gotten it together by March 1.

No, but your remaining road schedule is rough. Winning even one or two of those would be an accomplishment.

@ UGA better be a gimme... you're right the rest of them are very tough.

But all the haters out there keep telling me the SEC sucks this year, so I dunno. Wahlabama is good, and Vandy gave us hell here in Knoxville, as did UF. Dunno about the Pole cats, find out Tuesday.

We have to win on Saturday first!!!

C'mon, people. I don't see the Vols losing more than two games the rest of the way. In case nobody noticed, these guys are GOOD! They are also playing like a team instead of a bunch of hot dogs. 3 or 4 seed in some region is a reasonable expectation.

@'bama, @UK, @Vandy, and @UF are all VERY tough games. I'd be happy to go 2-2 through that, but wouldn't be surprised to go 0-4.

RPI ranking will also play a role. As I have said before this team could easily be a 3 seed if they can win the rest of their home games, but it could be a low three, meaning they would ship the Vols out west. IMO the Vols would fare better with a 4 or 5 seed if they are able to stay closer to home.

at home Arkansas 50/50
away Vandy 50/50, UK 50/50, UF

Bama is down to 7 scholarship players with the loss of their best player and their best 3 pt shooter quitting and their not playing well right now. Bama is not a dangerous as they were a month ago

You really think Ark in the Tommy is 50/50, 67? I guess that's a safe bet, but I have to favor us in every game for the rest of the season except at the O-dome... the power ratings over at teamrankings.com agree with that...

Downtown Vol's Crystal Ball, Part III:

Current record: 15-3 (6-1 SEC)

Wins: Ole Miss (home), Arkansas (home), Auburn (home), Kentucky (home), Georgia (road), Alabama (road)

Losses: Kentucky (road), Florida (road), Vandy (road)

Final regular-season record: 21-6 (12-4 SEC)

Games that I'm a little shaky on us winning: Kentucky (home), Alabama (road)

Games that I'm a little shaky on us losing: Kentucky (road), Vandy (road)

I don't know what to make of Kentucky. Anyone see the UK/Arkansas game? Kentucky looked like the worst team in the league during the first half, then the best team in the league during the second half. You just never know which team is going to show up. They still don't have any "quality wins" except for Louisville (who aren't that good), and they have had a very soft SEC schedule up until now. If Sparks and Rondo are hitting shots, they can be very tough to beat. If they're laying bricks, literally anyone can beat them. We could just as easily sweep or be swept by the Cats.

Regardless of what we do in the SEC tournament, that should be good enough for a 4 seed. Possible 3 if we win a game or two. Possible 2 (!!) if we win the entire thing, but I don't really see that happening.

You know what I love? A month ago we were talking about "what if we made the dance?" Now we're talking about 4-5 seeds. Sheesh. What a run.

Don't count these kids and this coach out on any of the remaining games. I guar-an-tee that none of our opposition is.

GO VOLS.
