If we win...

Students would love to do it if they have a reason to. I remember I wanted to when we beat UF in 16 lol
I was out on the field in 1982, Majors' first victory on the 6th meeting. Bear Bryant retired after the season and died, not much later . Sad for the fraternity of the game. This rivalry has some highly distinctive events

The streak is broken and Saban is gone. Heck Tennessee will be starting a home win streak if they win this year. Not rush the field material.

Maybe next year if Georgia is top 4 and we don't beat them this year.

There's one scenario where a field rush is acceptable - some kind of miraculous come from behind or improbable victory. We'd have to be talking "Dobbs heaves it" or scoring two touchdowns in less than 2 minutes at the end of a game to come back and win. Something so unimaginable that it's inconceivable that it would ever happen again. Something historic. The kind of thing that Immortan Joe would carry someone to the gates of Volhalla for.

Otherwise, agreed, no field rushing. There's no streak to celebrate beating. It's just Bama. Not even Nick Saban Bama. Just Bama. Beat them on the scoreboard and send them packing like any other team. No reason in the world Tennessee should ever act like LSU did beating Ole Miss. That was silly.

Tennessee will definitely give them a scoop and score. They do it every year. So they will be in the hole 7

Like other posters, only some bizarre comeback fashion, or a team that has owned us for awhile and that's jawjaw

IMO it’s a big “if” but no rushing the field for sure. Seeing Rocky top a ton, smoke cigars and celebrate, but don’t rush

You won’t see the Vols rushing the field for atleast another 8-10 years or more. That moment was special; but we aren’t Vandy. That was emotion building up for a decade and a half. If we are bad enough to rush the field after a win… we fell way off.

This isn’t about you or me. If the students want to rush the field, they should rush the field. If we don’t want them to feel like it’s a big deal to beat a top 10 team, then we should do our part to bring back the expectations of winning games like this. Unfortunately, our part is simply to cheer loud and donate money.

I agree that rushing the field is something reserved for something huge like breaking a streak of losses or a miracle comeback. However, if the game does not meet the miracle finish, then stay in the stands, get loud, and then wander down to the field to mingle with the players if they have not gone to the locker room. Don't want to do anything to get folks hurt. Let the players have their time after the game first. No need to toss the goalposts in the river. Show some class and don't do anything stupid.
