The problem is compliance with the law. You need to add men and women sports at the same time.
Yeah? So? Big 10 schools have men's soccer, as do ACC ones, Pac coast, Notre Dame, etc. What men's sports do we have that they don't? Or their women's ones that we don't? In other words, this issue is not really a hold-up unless the powers that be want an excuse to latch on to.

Sigh! Even as a young kid, watching Battle of The Network Stars and seeing Adrienne Barbeau in a tank top and skimpy shorts refreshed me!

Certainly not soccer. Keep that in Europe.
It’s already here, and in the rest of North America, and South America, and Africa, and Asia, and the Middle East.

Personally, I love American football because it’s what I grew up watching, but soccer is the world’s greatest team sport. I’d put baseball up there too.

Wrestling, I think we could be compete at a good level and we have a good feeder high school programs in the state. Not saying we would be Iowa or something, but I think it would be good. I mean we have a gold medal in women's from King University in Bristol.
Agreed,

The AAU Wresting in the state has improved dramatically over the last couple of decades. This has helped the HS teams become very competitive.

If wrestling became a varsity sport, i would be a season ticket holder as soon as they became available.

We had wrestling, but discontinued it back in the late 80's or early 90's.
Yeah, but we didn't have the feeder pipeline we do now. Wrestling in high school back then was not great. The state now produces some of the best pound for pound wrestlers in the country. Vastly different than the 70s and 80s when it was a program.

Hockey.

I know Arizona State has a good program now and it would be nice to see TN and other southern schools add as something more than a club sport.

Second choice is gymnastics.
Too expensive. Nowhere to play. UAH had NCAA D1 hockey until s couple years ago. No conference would take them due to travel. It's just not feasible in Knoxville or much of the South, unless a block enter together. Georgia and Alabama are only ones close to being equipped for it. Maybe Vanderbilt. Arizona State and Penn State are only recent program additions, and they had massive donors. Lindenwood moved to D1 but had a public facility next to campus.
