Things changed tonight. We didn't get enough points to win the game. But the winning started tonight.

I hope we get the same type of play calling. They started calling plays to win, instead of calling conservative plays to not lose.

We deserved to win today. Eventually, if you keep playing games deserving of victory, you will break through. I thought it would be today, but it wasn't. Even still, I see this game as a sign that the future looks bright on Rocky Top. No shame in being a Tennessee fan today!

The thing I noticed is that players started making plays. Worley made a lot of throws in the 2nd half. it was like the coaches decided that they were going to call the plays and let Worley prove that he could make the throws. The WRs played pretty well, too. The defense stepped up. Pig was playing to win tonight. Great to see. Losing is still a habit for us, though. We gotta shake it sooner rather than later. Feels like it's going to happen soon.

Boom! This was the first exciting 4 qaurter game that I have seen since UNC iirc. Man, it was great to see these guys lay it all on the line to come back and take the lead like they did. It's been over two years since we have been in a "real game" for four quarters like this. This game is the antithesis of last weeks.

Coaching "the process" is starting to kick in IMO. Proud of the fight and the heart. Those 50+ recruits got a show tonight. We should have about 47 commits on Rivals tomorrow LOL!

Loved those smokey grey unis too. Looked great on TV imo.

Losing is a difficult habit to break. It is a whole lot easier to lose. Tonite, (volleygirl is right), the losing habits are clearly being broken. I believe they set the bar tonite. The one turnover killed us but you can't fault Pig as he was giving everything he had to score and win. If they rise to this level each game remaining on our schedule, I believe the losing habit will be broken completely. I do see the light at the end of the tunnel and it not a train.

As I stated in another thread, the fans were chanting "It's great to be a Tennessee Vol" as we left the stadium. It's a step, and I think we have begun what will be a slow but steady return to greatness.

As for comparing this to the "almost wins" coached by Derek Dooley (as I've read some on here do), I don't see it. Dooley's infamous loss to LSU was due to incompetence. Tonight, one of guys stretched for the win instead of playing it safe - he came up short. Our QB, who was benched and beat down by many fans, came to life in the second half. He has to continue to improve, but he showed is toughness. The WRs started playing at a higher level, too. Not perfect, but much better. There were actual halftime adjustments, too.

It's still not a win, I know. I am far from satisfied. However, those recruits visiting tonight saw a loud, passionate Neyland Stadium crowd. Hope those young men are able to see what they could be a part of.

I believe that can be attributed to a growing sense of confidence expressed by Butch in his team and vice versa. When asked about the three fourth-down conversions, Justin stated essentially that it meant a lot to the team that Butch had confidence in them to execute in those situations, which, in turn, fueled their desire to prove his faith to be well-founded.

I'm scared to break 'em back out. I'm afraid they're a bad omen.

We were cheering the boys as they left the field. I cannot tell you how happy that made me. I hope they were able to hear it. I hope they know what tonight meant to us.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they do.
