What would be some of the things that you would want in a school, what would make a difference, and what kind of things would you do to get attention?

For instance:

I would probably have a name on Volnation and would probably get on and drive posters crazy with confusing comments about where I was going.

I would probably update my myspace or facebook to where everyone would think something different about my status.

I would probably play a few games with my commitment date.

I would probably do exactly like Jesse Scroggins is doing.

But just wondering, if you or your son was a recruit, and every college in the country was looking at him and his decision, how would YOU handle it?

Until I read this I was gonna say the moment I got that UT offer, I'd take it and never look back.

I would keep a low profile and and NOT have a press conference!!!!

Not one great HS player has ever taken a snap in college. I would not want to rub my future teammates the wrong way. Clausen having a Limo, having 5 hats at a table and playing with each one before the decision, press conf's, ect........Give me a break!

Go through the process with some class!

I'd take a trip to every college that was interested, even if I had no intentions of going there.

This is why the University of Hawaii is EXTREMELY selective about who they offer schollies/trips to. Many kids used to just use them for a free trip to Hawaii.

I gotta agree with Peay. This whole thing with Scroggins, yeah, I want him, but I want him less and less every day this thing goes on. Is it worth a player if he's just going to be a hotshot? He isn't even a senior in high school technically! He hasn't even taken a snap. He could get out in his Senior year, and suck it up. He could get injured. He could not be eligible academically. And yet the kid (and many others) are going for the star treatment. Eric Berry and people like him are the ones who deserve the attention. And they deserve the attention because they're humble, they just want to win, and they put their team first. Watch a interview with EB. He accepts the awards, but he really just wants to go to the SEC championship. Love it. I want a team full of players like that.

I would go wherever I felt the most comfortable. So the kid wants to go to the school 20 minutes from home. Good for him. And it's short-sighted to say the kid will never see the field. I mean do you think Matt Cassell regrets his decision to go to USC and play back up for years? Even if he HADN'T panned out thanks to Tom Brady going down? I mean he thinks he can beat out Barkley, and it's close to home, and he gets to play with his friend from HS. So I say good for him.

Suck it up as a loss, let the kid do what he wants, and move on. We won't get every badass recruit. The simple fact that we were in on it for the #6 QB with the 2 biggest powerhouses in college football says a LOT. Have patience people.

And what's more is, like others have already said, it's LONG way until national signing day in 2010. A whole lot can happen before then.
