Arkansas wins the SEC, they would be the first team outside of the Big Six of Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Auburn, and Florida. It would be the first time a team outside the Traditional Big Six wins the SEC Championship game, and the first team to win the SEC Title since Kentucky shared the Title in 1976 with Georgia. This is a big IF though, but if it happened then it would be a new phenomenon.

A Sugar Bowl or NC win might though...
Winning the NC, maybe. Even though I think there is no chance in the world that it would happen. Winning the Sugar Bowl still wouldn't put you all on the level of the "Big 6".

I was half kidding. I know we are the new guys (still after 14 years) but we are on the rise.

You know we won a few games before coming to the SEC, right?

Arkansas has at least appeared in the SECG before. Mississippi St. has, as well, leaving only Ole Miss without an appearance from the west.

In the East, we are less democratic. SC, Ky, and Vandy have never reached the title game. Some things are as they should be:)

Oh yeah. I remember the old SWC usually came down to Arkansas vs Texas (Broyles vs Royal). Man, those were some good games. It was a very big rivalry back in the 60's and 70's, wasn't it?

Not to steal the Hogs thunder, but the year they went to the Seccg, we handed them the ticket, they didn't earn it.

Edit...they played in 95 as well, I forgot about that one.

Arkansas has appeared in 2 SEC title games. One under Danny Ford, one with Houston Nutt. Off topic, how did getting your a$$es kicked by one of the 1,577 coaches you should have hired instead of Dubose, Part II feel Saturday?

Felt like they always do man. You went through it last year, so the feeling should be fresh in your mind.

Don't remember losing a game last year to a team anywhere near as bad as Mississippi State. Also don't remember being beaten by an alum that we were too stupid and/or bigoted to hire, thus leading to us hiring a coach that had been a failure in every coaching position he had ever had.

I still don't think Croom would have been a saving grace, and I don't drink the Shulaid.
Actually, you have a point. Alabama should be hiring coaches with much more accomplished resumes than either of those guys possessed. Should Croom have certainly been hired ahead of Dubose, Part II? Yes. However, neither of those guys should have been serious candidates.

Yeah, no kidding. I think another year of Shula's inept offense will lead to his demise. He will be forced to make some hires after this year.

I think giving Shula another year is a terrible mistake for the Tide. He's over his head and it will not get any better.

Not to mention, what assistants worth a crap would want to walk into a time bomb. The inevitible is going to happen, would you want to take the chance on a one year gig at Bama??

Exactly. I'm not embarassed to admit I was scared senseless at the prospect of Alabama hiring Butch Davis.

If Shula hires an OC, and turns the reigns over, he may keep his job if we improve. Wonder if Coker would be interested in an OC job????

My guess is that Coker is completely done. However, he has a good resume as a coordinator. It would certainly be an upgrade for the Tide.
