It's not just a QB problem. I feel like Mett has the talent to take a team to the NCG especially with LSU's D. This is only Mettt's 2nd SEC start.
I loved how LSU was playing on O the first 7 games of the year last year until the 1st Bama game, since then it's been all down hill. As far as I am concern LSU has a top 1 or 2 D in the country even with all the injuries, suspensions, early drafts, transfers, etc.
The problems for the O:
1.) Beat up, missing personnel... OL
2.) No top WRs, all of them are slot WRs that don't seem to be able to catch or hold onto the ball
3.) No real balance in the previous games to where you could improve against weaker opposition
4.) Still way too many penalties
5.) Very few RB screens to stop the rush, last night was the first time I saw them do it and it gained 20 yards.
6.) Bad playcalling... no real gameplan
7.) QB will basically no SEC experience
8.) No ability to adjust
The one problem I saw from the D is a lack of a spark... for two years Mathieu would make the special plays on D and special teams to get LSU going... none of that.
Minter played a great game, very happy with his progress. All the young D players are playing very well, quite a few freshman LBs got burned a few times in the second half on some nice formation adjustments by UF but overall the D played real well.
LSU will lose more games, I think the next couple of games is on showing whether Mett is going to be the guy, I mean he is already a Junior and at some point you might as well try and develop Rivers.
I had a feel it was coming this game and it did, I am not surprised. LSU is beatup and just not playing well on O, I would expect more loses.
