So I guess the joy from beating South Carolina is quickly starting to wear off and I'm finally making my way back to a realistic perspective. There is no doubt that the team is improving and looking more cohesive. There is no doubt that CBJ seems to be a great thing for not only the football program but also the fan base. I love the fact that we can go a full 60 minutes now, it literally puts a smile on my face. Seeing our team actually show up after the half and continue playing all the way through the 4th quarter is just.. wow! Yes, we almost beat Georgia(34-31), and yes we beat South Carolina(23-21), two things I don't think most of us were expecting at this point. As much as I would LOVE to see us upset Bama, to even get a shot at it we're really going to have to bring it even more so than ever before. They're not going to allow us the chance to just squeak by.

Here's to hoping though!
GBO!

Im not kidding myself either. We have to play an almost perfect game to win. We have to play extremely well just to keep it close. If we have an average day its gonna get ugly. This team has me excited but we are not even close to having the same amount of talent they have. We have to out coach Saban and I happen to think BJ and staff can. Ive never seen Spurrier so confused at what to do, it was nice. We have a chance this week but its slim. Stranger things have happened. GBO!

Where I live in Tennessee, we're covered in Alabama fans (Weakley County). I work in a bar and towards the end of every night I play Rocky Top, and tonight there were a few bama fans in there and the look on their faces was anger and worry. There was a non-obnoxious bama fan in there that actually talked to me about the game without going into a rage and he says that he feels more worried about Tennessee now than ever before in the last 6 years. He thinks they have not been tested the way that the Tennessee defense will test them and he thinks it will come down in the 4th just like we did with Georgia and they will score a go-ahead that we wont be able to answer. This has me thinkin more and more about another major upset..just wish it was gonna be in Neyland.

The nattering nabobs of negativity always come out.

I can't stant total Nega-Vols.

There is a difference in the constant Nega-Vols we have on here and those that try to simply look at our lack of better talent and our serious lack of talent for a good 2 deep gameday roster.

There's zero doubt that alaBubba has more starting talent than we have and when the 2 deep roster is taken into account we're really far behind alaBummer on total playmaker talent available.

I try to keep a positive and optomistic attitude about most everything and we all know that on any given gameday anything IS possible.

I hope and pray we'll WIN out the rest of this season but I don't expect a Win against the bammers despite how badly I want to beat them and destroy nick saTans hopes for another NC this year.

We can all see our Vols getting better every week but our serious lack of talent and team depth is still a major problem for awhile longer until bUTch had more years to recruit really good playmakers and build up the depth chart.

I won't attack anyone trying to be politely realistic but I will say that we always have a chance to upset anyone and I'll believe we can WIN on any given gameday until the other team takes the field and proves that they're the better team on that day.

We can have hope and we can believe because we ARE the Tennessee Vols!!!

#BrickbyBrick...#RisetotheTop...VFL...GBO!!!

Not a nega, but UT is not winning on Sat. I just want them to compete and continue playing solid ball. It will continue paying dividends over our last 4 games.

A win is a lot to expect at this point, however, never say never....
Being competitive tells recruits that we are on the brink and they can be the difference maker. I like where this ride is taking us

Good post. As much as a win in Neyland would mean to our fan base and the team, it would be hard not to hope that could happen. But I have to say, the look of dejection and near suicide on the faces of the Bammers in their stadium when they lose like against aTm last season is absolutely priceless.

There's a reason teams play the games. This is exactly what the players and staff have been focused on. They hear Alabama, know they've been good lately and their beat before they begin. Support your team no matter what and you can go wrong.

Just play a solid game and let the chips fall where they may. The outcome is decided by the execution.

I don't care who we play. We have the chance on beating anyone. Anything can happen on any given Saturday. I understand being realistic at times, but give the team hope. We're playing bama, this will be the week they need our support the most.

Always believe! Don't be a debbie downer.

I live in Montgomery County, near Fort Campbell. There are way, way too many Bama fans up here. Go to a bar to watch the Vols play any team, and they are everywhere. Oh hum. On a positive note, none of my friends are bama fans.

I wore my orange gear out on the town Saturday after we beat the cocks, and I got this comment as well from one guy. He seemed to be worried in general, but I also got some anger from another guy. They may beat us Saturday, but they know going forward we aren't going to just roll over anymore.

I rather keep my confidence cap on instead of a realistic cap. I don't care if it is Bama, in Butch I trust!

I'm not expecting a win on Saturday, but I am expecting the team to at least show up. That's something they haven't done since 2009.

My biggest concern is moving the football through the air. We cannot keep relying on our receivers to pull down up-for-grab passes. We need to be able to effectively throw slants and outs. Still a big concern.

I do like the improvement in our special teams, running game, and coverage D.

I don't see it as being a negavol to point out we are playing away at the #1 team in the nation's facility and we are unranked. It's going to be difficult to pull out a win in Tuscabumfreakwherever. That said, there's nothing wrong with being excited for this team and the vast strides they've made and giving them a chance by supporting them in an upset!! Do I think the stripes will call it right? No chance, there is too much money on the table, if the game is close Bammer will get their call, always do, if it comes down to keeping a hanky in a pocket and the NC being played without an SEC team this year, that hanky will stay put, best believe that. But if our kids go down there and play their donkeys off lights out, do I think they can win? Hell to the yeah I do!!! Until Bama starts showing up with 4 arms and 4 legs per player, then they don't have anything we don't!! GBO!!! Buck Fammer!!!!
