I had tickets offered to me last year the week of the All Star race but couldn't get my weekend clear. Never been to Lowes before. I go to Talladega and Atlanta every year for either the spring or the fall race. I intend on going to the Fall Atlanta race since it will be the first under the lights. I will be at Disney World the week of the 500 but I would need another place to stay if I snuck over to Daytona for the day.:cray:

Do you know where your seats are at? There is a bunch of places at Lowes where you can't see very well. The one and only time I went I was in turn one on the very top row under the cover. You could see the trioval coming into one, the turns one and two, and down the backstretch and then they disappeared before they came back around. And even when you could see them going down the backstretch and coming towards the finish line they looked like colored blurs anyway. It just wasn't very fun for me as I prefer Bristol where you can see the whole way around.

I much prefer the Dirt Track across the street from the big track at Lowes. Been going twice each year for the past 4 years to big Super Late Model races there.

If you have never been to Concord they have the 3rd biggest mall in America I think it is. That sucker is huge.

My first food stop there is always the Texas Land and Cattle Company. Not bad prices at all and even though its a chain I've always loved their food. If you like steaks their signature is a smoked sirloin and its the best steak I've ever had besides a place called Athens in Bristol, Va.

We also like the Razoo's chain as they have good spicy Cajun food.

If you need to know anything else about the area let me know. I'm getting pretty familiar with it going over there like I have been the past few years.

Lowes is awesome. I've been to the 600 a couple of times. They close off downtown Charlotte that weekend before the race and it's a lot of fun. They have bands playing at several different stages and vendors are handing out all kinds of free stuff. I could see very good both times I went. We were directly across from the healthcare center in the last turn and we were the first row that was covered by the overhang. They do a good job there about getting traffic moving in and out. The outside of the track is about like all other places. They have driver's trailers set up and vendors everywhere. I would recommend renting the Sprint Fan View scanner. It has a screen on it and they're really cool to have during the race.

I got to go to the infield at Dega in 07 for the ARCA race. Getting to push my father in laws car out onto Talladega's pit road for qualifying is something I won't ever forget. Watching the race from the pits of course you couldn't see much but just being in the pits was awesome. Dega is just such a massive place its crazy. I got to see all the Cup and Truck guys running around the garage and infield area those two days - it was such a cool experience. I never broke down and acted like most fans and asked for autographs - I feel sorry for the poor guys. I did however get Boris Said to pose for a picture with me - he's the only one I even bugged about that.

When I had first came into the track on that Thursday they were practicing trucks as we came through the tunnel under the track. The roar of the trucks right over my head was crazy and I'll never forget turning around and hanging out the window like a schoolgirl looking up at the towering turn and the trucks blazing by. Its a weekend I'll never forget and if anyone on here ever somehow gets a chance to get in a garage and in the pits for a weekend it is so awesome.

I even got kicked out of pit road during Cup qualifying and almost had my card pulled from me. This robocop security guard guy kept hounding me. The pits were relatively empty during qualifying and I was standing in a pit stall near the turn one end of pit road minding my own business. He comes by and gets right in my face and starts spewing his best Alabama profanities at me and tells me to get the $($( out of the pitbox. So, I didn't want any trouble and did as he said. Then a few minutes later a crew was wheeling a pitbox by and I was in the way standing where I was so I stepped back inside of the pit stall. Deputy Do Right happened to be coming back by then and he went off on me about 1/2 inch away from my face with his spittle hitting me in the face. I told him nicely why I had stepped back inside of the box. He didn't understand a coherent thought so he proceeded to keep cussing me and then I started talking back to him in his language and got his attention. I told him that he was doing a $#% of a job telling me what to do today and then proceeded to tell him in no uncertain terms that he must get off on being such a biiggggg man two weekends a year. I told him that he was Alabama pond scum and wasn't worth me wasting my breath on. Then the igit put his hands on me at which point my father in law driver came over and told him that was enough. He "calls for backup" because God knows that I was a threat to NASCAR and the Talladega Superspeedway. A much nicer real cop walks me away and tells me to stay in the ARCA garage until the ARCA race started. He told me that the robocop I was dealing with was a bit unstable. I told the real cop that the robocop was about a second away from me shoving his nightstick up his rear end. I'm not a very violent person or confrontational person by any means but this guy was just over the line with me.

Anyway, besides that little setback being in the pits was flat out awesome. If you ever get the pleasure to go to Talladega for God's sakes don't step inside of a pit stall because if you do you might as well have dug up the corpse of Bear Bryant and been peeing on it. The thing that was the craziest about the whole thing is that for the Truck practice earlier I was sitting on pit wall watching them with NASCAR officials and other security right there not saying a word. This was just one guy that wanted to show how big his ba.........ego was so he picked me to make a spectacle of. What really got to him was when the other people around me started laughing when I didn't take his crap and it hurt his tiny ego so he had to have me escorted from pit road.

I've been to the 600 and it is simply awesome. I've also attended the Bank of America race in the fall. LMS rocks. Yes,Speed Street is a big event in uptown Charlotte the Friday before the 600. I've never been to Speed Street but I understand it's great. Have fun at the All-Star Race. I live about an hour south of Martinsville and attend races there as well.

The All-Star race is cool because it's shorter than the 600 and a lot more laid back. I love going to the All-Star race, I've been several times. The only thing you'll learn to hate about Lowe's is the traffic. David Poole described it, and I paraphrase, is like a bunch of local 3rd graders directing the traffic after the race. It really is chaos.

My dad and I went to the last "The Winston" race when Ryan Newman won. It was a bit rainy on Friday night after qualifying, and very chilly that night at the race, but we had a great time. You will enjoy watching the race at Lowe's MS.
