GO F***ING VOLS. This is the first time I've sat down in about three hours.

I've been reading posts in here for a bit, and I've seen two posts about my support for Ainge. And I have one thing to give to you two who started those threads: A BIG HARDY :finger: Ainge may have played terrible but you are DISSING a VOL. Anybody talking crap about Ainge ought to be damned ashamed. Just be proud Rick stepped it up.

Ainge may be my boy, but this is also my team. I will be wearing orange tomorrow without question.

Milo, anyone that's been on here for any period of time knows that you came here as an Ainge fan, but are now a VOL fan! EA will have his day... it just doesn't look like it will be this year. From this moment on, this year is Rick's to lose, and I'm so proud of him to have taken the reins.

The offense as a whole sucked the first half. It's hard to play good QB when your offensive line is getting slapped around like our guys did in the first half. I think Ainge got barely a play where he wasn't getting inundated in the backfield with purple and gold. Rick had far better protection. He seemed almost forced into akward throws because he was getting swarmed so much.

You can credit the turn around to not only Rick -- but also, and more so, the fact that our offensive line went from terrible to amazing in the second half.

Not dishing EA here. He is a great recruit. But, sometimes the players around you respond better to the leader they have the most confidence in. It's no secret that RC has been the player's choice. EA has to get his mind for big time QB'ing up to the level of his raw talent and he will be fine. If he doesn't, he'll be backing up Crompton next year. RC has a chemistry with his O that EA hasn't developed yet. It'll come.

Same here, GVF. If Ainge had the same type of O-line play Clausen had, we could have wrapped up the game in the 3rd. Not pointing any fingers here; It could be the o-line or Ainge's leadership, either way Fulmer needs to get Ainge and the big uglies clicking if we are going to maximize our offensive potential.

Johnny I think we have a winner! The whole O seems to respond better to Rick... although he was ineffective at UF, you've got to settle on one, and Rick didn't give room for a choice.

Good to be back. I see somethings haven't changed. (Newbie conversations). Always a pleasure on this board.

Boy I just don't see it the same. Ainge has shown as much negative potential as positive IMHO. He doesn't set for throws, throws into coverage, holds the ball too long and presses too hard to make something happen. Whatever it is, he doesn't have the command of the game.

Taken on the whole (last year and this) I haven't seen that Ainge is our best chance to win games.

Actually, I agree with you volinbham. I don't doubt EA's ability. I just don't think he's ready. He hasn't shown to be a Manning, or a Clausen (take your pick) who can just step in, command the game and the respect on the field, the locker room, or in game study. His demeanor from here out will determine if he is the man next year, but for the rest of this year, he will be a capable sub who better win the guys over for his rein next year.
