Coach Jones is the right man for the job, patience till his recruits for his vision and offense/defense gets on the field is the watchword. Until then we live with soft corners, bad tackling in space, passive o linemen, slow linebackers, and players who apparently need a face in theirs on every single play reminding them of their personal responsibilities on every single play drawing ha/ha's from every talking head on every sports network you remote to. The win over South Carolina was awesome, the near win over Georgia was great, it shows Coach Jones knows, and the players try according to the abilities they have. Its tough getting embarrassed, tonight team 117 was embarrased, they were slow, passive, weak, and inattentive. I saw on one play aj johnson getting hooked on a block by a mizzou pulling off guard that weighed 300 plus who traveled down the line turned at the TE spot and hooked him on a toss sweep. AJ is a very good linebacker, I dont know what motivation he needs to pick up his speed to the ball but when a 300 lb lineman can cover 15 yards and still block you as a LB that is mollasses slow. It'll get better we all need to be patient.

Exactly! We're at the Kentucky Derby with a bunch of mules and people don't understand why we lose to the superior teams. We don't have the horses yet to compete folks. It WILL get better!

The bottom line is this, We are playing with a bunch of players recruited by Dooley and to be honest most of them would have a hard time starting for a sunbelt team....I mean it is what it is....Like someone else said, You can't win the Kentucky derby with a bunch of mules....CBJ can only do so much...He can't wave a magic wand and make these guys talented....We are just going to have to be patient and let him recruit "Which by the way he is doing one hell of a job" and let him get HIS players in here to run his system the way he wants it done....If some of you are expecting great results right off the bat starting a freshman QB then I suggest you go fishing or something on saturdays because its just not going to happen....Just support these players and this coaching staff and look towards the future....Because its going to be bright....I have no doubts.

Yes, after half a season, lets logically and realistically expect Butch to completely turn it around and be challenging Top ten teams on a weekly basis.

They need to either win out, or they can only lose one game out of Ole Miss/A&M and have UGA win out.


With A&M still on the schedule for Missouri (though they will have Franklin back by then) and Auburn still on the schedule for UGA, I think that makes USCe the favorites.

We've been slaughtered three times so far this year. Butch inherited a better situation the Dooley did and we never got butchered three times in one season with him.

Facts, they can be a real b@tch can't they.

We got slaughtered on the road by the 2 best teams in the country and the #9 team in the country. Most of us expected tp be 6-6 this year, those are the only facts.

we got destroyed by florida, bama and vandy last year with 5 nfl players on the offense who we no longer have.

Isn't it funny how some people forget that last season was the statistically post potent offense in Tennessee history and that the 3 most pivotal players on that offense (eligible to score) that made that happen are now all making a paycheck? It's like they never expected the team to miss a beat offensively.

we don't have the horses... heard it for 20 years... except 1998.. it's an excuse for poor coaching and execution by the players. hey look duke don't have any horses either but they are having the best season in school history, and they beat va tech. i have a co worker that says we don't have the horses or it's gonna be tough every game, he predicted 5-7 this season and i want to bust him in the mouth for it.

You are absolutely,positively,without question.....totally out of touch with our current talent level. We ARE Tennessee..but NOT the Tennessee of the late 90's. You don't have to like it...you're free to jump ship...but if you choose to stay on board...you need to realize we're two years away from making serious noise in the SEC. Until then...you may want to lower your expectations a bit.
