Of course responses (if any) are strictly opinion. Any SEC team plays the Ducks last Saturday - who wins?

This isn't a shot at the Vols - I was cheering Orange last Saturday.

My odds: (O could win any of these, IMHO)

SEC West:

Bama-Ducks - Bama, most cases. 70/30
Arky - Ducks - 55/45, Ducks.
Aubies - Ducks - 60/40, Tigers.
LSU - Ducks - 55/45, Tigers.
Ole Miss - 90/10, Ducks
MSU - 95/5, Ducks

SEC East:

Gators - Ducks - Tough one - with the latest improvement 65/35 Gators
Bulldogs - Ducks - 55/45 Ducks
UK - Ducks - 95/5 Ducks
USCjr-Ducks - 65/35 Ducks
Vols/Ducks - 70/30 Ducks. For interest to this forum, with more depth at Vol D this year, 65/35 Ducks.
Vandy - Ducks - 97/3 Ducks.

Wow I put too much work into that.

What SEC teams do you think would have given the Ducks a game last weekend?

My choices: Bama, Awbrun, LSU, and the Gators. If the Vols had depth in D, TN. I'm unsure about USCjr, they seem to be playing well.

AU and LSU don't get close
Really? I was up in the air with AU and LSU. To be honest, AU is worrying me, and I just gave LSU the benefit of the doubt. Of course if it came down to 4th quarter coaching, Miles would be in trouble.

it's not all Miles since Chavis would have to coach the D. And AU is just not that good IMO

Chavis seems dumfounded by QBs that can run and throw.

Oregon would run LSU out of the stadium, not because of talent but coaching.

After what I have seen.

Bama is the only I would pick to beat them.

There are others that could.

Possibly, I could see LSU pulling it out. Miles almost always keeps them from being a lock to win, but their talent always keeps them a contender in any game.

LSU is freaking loaded. The Jefferson Miles combo just has to be one of the worst ever. Look at that freaking roster.

I said this is in another thread, but it's almost like they don't practice. I don't understand how he has a team looking so bad at times. Even in 2007 he often had the team looking like they didn't give a damn whether or not they won.

He makes Fulmer look like a preparing, talent developing football coach.

Oregon would face a better than 50/50 shot of beating every SEC team on their own turf, except Bama, probably Florida and maaaaybe Auburn. Arkansas would be a fun shoot out but Chip Kelly would have Petrino's defense grabbing its ankles all day long.

LSU has massively more talent than Arky and Auburn. It's ri-damn-diculous.

Talent that gets massively squandered in the college ranks before they all make their way to the NFL.

Kelly and his staff could coach circles around Miles and his.

Bama and Florida beat Oregon. Who the hell knows about LSU. Everybody else is toast.

My question to the OP, though, is what exactly you saw Saturday that would lead you to believe Tennessee could beat them 3 times out of 10?

Florida at home would beat the Ducks. Bama at home would have Duck soup. LSU has a sheet for brains coach or they would beat them too.

I don't think things are as absolute as some do. The Vols played a good first half. Anything can happen in football (and does) - ask Ole Miss and Va Tech. I think with 10 games, Penn State would probably pick up a couple against Bama. That's why they play the game *shrug*

I came away fairly sure that the first half was the statistical anomaly, not the second. I think if Tennessee plays Oregon 10 times, they probably lose 10 times. I think of those 10, many more would be in the "dear God, that score is embarrassing!" category than most fans would like to realize.

The first half was a result of vanilla play calling by the ducks and our depth not showing through yet.

i'm not convinced oregon is the greatest team in america or something, but the sec just isn't very good. bama blows them out. everyone else at least would have a lot to handle.

I'm basing it more on what I know the teams have on the roster than performance thusfar, which is a pretty limited sample. I think Bama fields a team with better players. I think Florida does, too, and I think they will show it as the season wears on. I also think LSU does, but the Les-factor has to mean something.

I do think Oregon is a full level above everybody else in the conference.
