Guys can I get some of the gurus to fill in the blanks here for me on some of the schools who a really bad season could benefit us most?

Oregon and Oklahoma already qualify as implosions because you can see the players they lost and project out more losses than you expected on their seasons. Iowa also looks like absolute meat but it will not help us at all.

Let me say that I have heard a rumor that Cox has a hurt shoulder but is waiting until after the season to get surgery cause he knows he will be done playing football. Losing Sturdivant who was supposed to be their best linemen hurts them also. How many games does UGA need to lose before it sways some guys?

Anyone have any guesses? Some guys are UGA fans from childhood, and nothing less than Richt losing his job (almost zero chance of that) will cause changes in their plans, but what about guys who will look around if UGA loses 4?

What if South Carolina gets blown out by UGA and by us and Stephen Garcia looks as bad all year as he looked against us? Aside from all of us laughing at A Jeffrey, I think it will help us get Quarles. I have heard rumors that Steve Spurrier may be ready to hang it up after this year anyway and that would have a MAJOR impact on their recruiting.

UNC having a really bad year? The ACC looks like the sisters of the freaking poor so I do not see it happening, but Butch Davis is a great coach and if his season went down the toilet it might help us with some guys like Leifheit. If a guy is going to UNC for the academics I do not think a bad year is going to turn him our way.

Anyway I know this is calling for speculation on speculation but I am curious to know what you guys think about this. You can update it as the season goes on and Auburn gets WHUPPED by saying we are doing better now with Dyer etc.

Zero chance of Richt losing his job this year, but his seat is getting warmer.

If Richt loses 4 or more, I think he gets canned. He has had a loaded team for the last couple of years and has done nothing with them. If they lose to us and his loss total is 4 or more, he gets the boot. IMO

That is real talk... I've been thinking this for a while. UGA is poised for 5-6 loses this year.

i dont think that 4 losses get richt the boot. i think that it will get him a meeting with the AD where the AD will tell him if he doesnt get his sh*t together that he will have to hit the road

After seeing LSU against Washington... they may have a down season also. Washington has lost 15 games in a row. LSU allowed seven 3rd downs of 10 or more yards.

A lotttt of my friends are Bulldogs and lemmie tell you they worship Richt down there! Honestly, I think he is severely overrated, but I guess we're all a bit bias. If he loses more than 4, he will be on the hot seat for next season, but don't expect him to go anywhere! He's some great talent from last year's class and this one coming in... I think that's a win for us (b/c again I think he's over-rated)! haha ...just my take!

I personally think if UGA loses four, and the other three are to UT, AU, and UF he should definitely start throwing his resume out there just in case. If they lose to SC on top of that, he's gone.

Miami. If Shannon is fired, Tubberville might be the first in line, and Gran is going to be his first call when he's filling out a staff.

I was wondering if Gran would go back to Tuberville if someone hires him. Hopefully Gran would pass because he doesn't want to keep moving his family around. May be hard to pass up if Tuberville were to name him assistant head coach on top of running back coach.

I have said this in other places, I think Gran and Thompson will be off this staff within 1-2 years because they can be like Garner in other jobs.

It is one reason I am so happy about how well Cregg is recruiting. He is 3-4 years of big gets away from having a reputation as a stud recruiter so we keep him definitely.

As far as Richt goes, I think he only gets fired if they all the way come apart and only win 4 which I think is impossible. He would survive a 6 win season IMO and if you look at his resume as HC he should survive a year like that when his best OL is out for the year first game and his QB is dealing with a silent injury and sucks.

Anyway I meant who benefits us with a bad year and a big part of that is not a HC getting fired, but a coordinator.

If Richt wins 6 I think Willie Martinez is fired, and his ability to hold onto his recruits will in part be who he brings in as D coordinator.

This is just the situation that got us Janzen Jackson.

I think LSU will regret the Chavis hire ultimately, but I also do not think them having a bad year will help us in recruiting. I do not think Seastrunk is coming here.

I think it looks like this:
Jamal=B Brown
Oku=Henry
Dyer=Stephens.

Totally imperfect comparison and leaves out our very talented Toney from Milton who would be playing if not for the injury and Taurean Poole who looks hungry and strong.

I'm not so sure that UF would be as significant a loss as would another loss to GaTech.

Speaking of, no one is talking about Ga Tech in the ACC. I think they'll win their division, and maybe the ACC.

LSU, GA, SC...

There seems to actually be more fan pressure at LSU. I think GA fans still have Goff and Donnan fresh in their memories. They still seem patient for the most part.

I will say that for a while I thought LSU or GA (or both) would have to falter for us to have our way with recruits. I don't really hold as strongly to that belief as I once did.
