Kentucky
2010 (2-1) Home 8-12, 8-6, 3-1 (19-19)
2011 (1-2) Away 3-5, 12-8, 3-7 (18-20)

Ole Miss
2010 (2-1) Away 3-7, 5-2, 10-6 (18-15)
2011 (1-2) Home 1-6, 6-4, 0-8 (7-18)

Florida
2010 (2-1) Home 2-4, 12-4 , 1-9 (15-17)
2011 (0-3) Away 0-3, 2-11, 1-9 (3-23)

Yep, it's obvious that every number is sooooooo much better than least year. Our runs are down, opponents runs are up. Our record is worse, etc etc etc

Sadly it appears that 2010 will be Toad's high-water mark, sort of like Pickett's Charge making it to the wall where they got mowed down.

Let's face the facts as we compare apples-to-apples Ole Miss' talent is on par with last year's team. UK is likely a worse team in '11 than '10. Florida is about the same if not a little better than last.

You can't use the bat as an excuse as obviously both teams have same bats as our opponents are scoring more runs. Even with our much deeper pitching staff and stellar running game. Things that make you go hmmmmmm indeed

In 2010, Tennessee started SEC play being 2-7 in first 3 series. (SC, LSU, and Ole Miss).

In 2011, Tennessee is starting SEC play at 2-7 in first 3 series (KY, Ole Miss and FL)

Obviously the 2011 schedule was softer than 2010 yet we will have the exact same record!

Are the Friends of Todd willing to admit defeat, albeit the few that are left that actually post on these forums?!?!?

It is your buddy that did this. Those who could tell from Toad's stammering introductory press conference knew he was over his head and perhaps mildly brain damaged. (Did WCU allow catchers to wear helmets behind the plate?)

I am not a person who thinks coaches from small schools should not get a HC job at UT. (I wanted Cuonzo Martin hired early in the process 2 weeks ago!) My dislike of the Toad hire was not a knee-jerk response, it was based on the bozo's demeanor, reputation and lack of consistent, tangible success at the SoCon level.

They are beating the cupcake teams but still the same problems they had in 2010.
Failure to get the critical hits to win in SEC Games for the first half.
They have not won division games on Friday. Hard to win a division series when you lose the first game.
Another poor start in the SEC. They are not winless after 3 division series but they still are stuck in the mud with the failure to win a division series like last year after the first 3 division series.

Yes they are beating the cupcake teams but even that is misleading because the pre-SEC schedule this year was a joke. All it did was falsely prop up the team with a misleading record. It was bad even for cupcakes.

Now we've gotten into SEC play and the only thing that is obvious is the team is still very bad.

I'm pissed beyond any rational belief

This unqualified bozo has officially destroyed my favorite sport at UT! There was zero excuse for bringing him back for a 4th year. There was no improvement in recruiting as Tood seemingly signed every average baseball player from every podunk high school in SE Tennessee and Western North Carolina!

Even in a sport like baseball where a good coach could turn around a team in 2 years, it would take a qualified coach twice that to replace the players and fix the program's 3rd tier reputation within the SEC and ACC.

We hired some retard from Western Carolina who was worse than the coach we fired!

We are throwing millions of dollars down the hole in stadium improvements that no one is seeing because the team sucks!

In fact, in an athletic program that is going down the crapper, baseball is leading the way and may clog the drain with it's huge, greasy hairy suckiness!

Sure the little boys that posted on these boards will say it's people like me with my negativity who is the blame, but DEEP DOWN, WE ALL KNEW FROM DAY ONE THIS WAS A BARGAIN BASEMENT, STUPID HIRE OF A MAN OBVIOUSLY LACKING LOGIC, LEADERSHIP SKILLS, OR EVEN SELF CONFIDENCE TO HIRE PEOPLE WHO ARE BETTER/SMARTER THAN HIM.

We are now stuck with a Div. II baseball team. A bad little league head coach. Assistants who are not qualified to be Wal-Mart greeters and no links to out-of-state recruiting area in California and Florida.

Tennessee avoided the shutout and got a run in the 9th.

9-1 final.

Combined score of 23-3 for a 3 game set

Mike Hamilton = the death of UT athletics. I can't remember a worse time to be a Vols fan. We suck at everything!

Instead of getting made at Raleigh who is a horrible coach how about getting made at Mike Hamilton. I have been trying to organize UT fans to write letters to the pres, and board of trustees to voice their displeasure with the terrible job Hamilton has been doing. Write the letters and quit going to games, donating money to UT or buying UT merchandise until he is gone.

Football? Worse
Basketball? Better (for now)
Baseball? Worse
Track? Worse
Swimming/Diving? Worse
Tennis? Better (equal to early 90s though)
Golf (bad as always)

There is no men's program that is far better than it was when Mike took over.

Our baseball and swim coach should have been fired years ago.

Our football program was ruined by a risky hire of a immature jerk

Our basketball program is sinking but may not be Hamilton's fault.

Our track program is in middle of a coaching experiment that so far is not working.

Tennis is good but was when I was in school 20 years ago as well.

Golf has always sucked with occasional surprises.

The Raleigh hire was simply the worst hire in UT history

CTR grabbed the brass ring when offered. Who could blame him - his comp and prestige went way up at UT. It didn't work out so it is past time for a change. The problem was with MH's understanding of baseball. If you don't know baseball, get out of the way, form a group of folks that do, and have them take the lead in the interviews and due diligence. First, anybody could tell that CTR has no people skills with the team, with fans, with media, with umpires, etc. Second, his style of play was straight from the 1960's going after big thumpers and one pitch hard throwers. He tried to change this year when he fell on his face, but it is too little too late. Third, he is really bad in the dugout. Dumb decisions.

My only question is can MH get a Burke or another solid baseball man with UT ties to come in now, or will it have to wait until another crappy season goes by? If we can get a guy like him I am all in and will come to the games again. No change, no more money from me.
