Yep, it's obvious that every number is sooooooo much better than least year. Our runs are down, opponents runs are up. Our record is worse, etc etc etc
Sadly it appears that 2010 will be Toad's high-water mark, sort of like Pickett's Charge making it to the wall where they got mowed down.
Let's face the facts as we compare apples-to-apples Ole Miss' talent is on par with last year's team. UK is likely a worse team in '11 than '10. Florida is about the same if not a little better than last.
You can't use the bat as an excuse as obviously both teams have same bats as our opponents are scoring more runs. Even with our much deeper pitching staff and stellar running game. Things that make you go hmmmmmm indeed
In 2010, Tennessee started SEC play being 2-7 in first 3 series. (SC, LSU, and Ole Miss).
In 2011, Tennessee is starting SEC play at 2-7 in first 3 series (KY, Ole Miss and FL)
Obviously the 2011 schedule was softer than 2010 yet we will have the exact same record!
Are the Friends of Todd willing to admit defeat, albeit the few that are left that actually post on these forums?!?!?
It is your buddy that did this. Those who could tell from Toad's stammering introductory press conference knew he was over his head and perhaps mildly brain damaged. (Did WCU allow catchers to wear helmets behind the plate?)
I am not a person who thinks coaches from small schools should not get a HC job at UT. (I wanted Cuonzo Martin hired early in the process 2 weeks ago!) My dislike of the Toad hire was not a knee-jerk response, it was based on the bozo's demeanor, reputation and lack of consistent, tangible success at the SoCon level.
