I know we have some players out right now, but are we improving throughout our season? From last season?

I feel like we are somehow getting worse. Do we not have any LEADERS? I think that's an issue.

Indeed. We're going the wrong way. A coach shouldn't be worse in his second year than in his first. Especially not when he returns all his key players save one (Maymon, 2 if you count Tatum).

We did have a leader, Maymon, but he's been out all year. We've lost the 2 guys we could least afford to lose this year in golden and Maymon.

Now...should we look better, absolutely, but take away your 2 most important pieces and your leader and most teams will struggle.

No, not an excuse. If you lose your 2 best players, it shouldn't make your team ANY worse at all.

Sike.

Yeah this team is not improving like last year's, which was one of the best things about last year's IMO.

Difference is last year we are healthy and add a 5*, this year we don't add anyone but lose our leader and two 4*.

People don't seem to understand that.

Would winning more be nice? Absolutely. However...if I said preseason our rotation would be:

McRae, Richardson, Moore, hall, stokes, Mcbee, Lopez, yemi and Reese...how many wins would you have expected?

We are 11-10. I think with Maymon we are 15-6 or 16-5...prob about 6-3 in the SEC..but, woulda....shoulda.....coulda!

Not many. But if I was filling out the schedule with what I thought would happen, I probably would have put a 'W' next to 'Georgia at home.' Not one good reason for that loss. Georgia blows.

UT lost to UGA two years ago at home after beating them at their place. However, that UGA team was pretty good and went to the NCAA tourney. This team is average at best. They're playing better, but they'll have to win the SEC tourney to get into the NCAA tourney.

I hope Cuonzo can be the guy. His style isn't that type of style that makes me jump out of my seat, but I'm smart enough to know that coaching changes typically set programs back. I mean, who do you hire? I would like to see Bruce back, but I know that a portion of the fan base would hate it. So the best solution is for Zo to get it done.

The horrible fundamentals of this team however, lead me to believe that he won't, though.

I remember that team. Trey Thompkins and Travis Leslie... they were good.

This year, Georgia is 11-11 with losses to Youngstown State, Southern Miss, Iona, and Mississippi State (by 11... Yeesh). Which makes them an average SEC team. Haha. That's how bad the SEC is this year.

No matter how you slice it, we shouldn't lose that game. Georgia is pretty bad relative to the rest of the nation, much like every SEC team besides Florida, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Missouri.

That includes us. But we weren't supposed to be bad, and should beat Georgia with half our roster.

You're right, but I'd have probably put an L next to the Wichita State game.

I can't stop thinking about that Kansas game when UT won with 6 scholarship players.

Yeah, if only Pearl was still coach, we would likely be undefeated. He could win without any talent. Giving McBee a scholly based on that one shot against Kansas has been such a positive for our program.

Lol. Pearl isn't the one giving McBee minutes. Why do you guys hate the Redneck of Rutledge so bad? He's trying. It's not his fault he isn't an SEC player. He's a good kid and a VFL regardless.

And by the way, everyone loved Skylar after that shot. NOT giving a scholarship to the local kid who turned down lesser offers to walk on for your program and hit a HUGE shot to help you beat a number one team with 6 scholarship players (deep breath)... would have been a bad PR move. Hindsight is always 20/20.
