Tennessee won the NCAA championship.

Seems like the game and the winners are being over shadowed by Imus, Vivian Stringer/Rutgers women.

Anyone other than me wondered what the reaction would've been like around here had he said that about the UT players?

I'm thinking (and hoping) those ignorant remarks would've been equally received as trash regardless of which team they were directed toward.

While insensitive and rude, I am not so sure that the comments, in context, can be classified as "ignorant."

Imus first describes them as rough, then as tattooed hos, and finally as nappy headed hos.

The Rutgers team was indeed a much rougher and more physical team than most women's teams I have seen play. There were definitely tattooed girls on that team. And, I would say that every person will have nappy hair if they play a full 40 minute college basketball game (most likely, their hair will be nappy by the 15 or 10 minute mark in the first half.)

Really, the only real word in question is "ho".

My congratulations to the many guests on MSNBC last night who pointed out that the worst part of the whole conflagration was that Sharpton and Jackson got to push their names forward once again as spokespeople for a group that largely wishes they would shut the heck up...

Since Al Sharpton got what he wanted in getting Imus fired, I wonder if he is now working on cleaning up the language in Hip Hop Culture.

I've been pretty quite on my opinion of this whole situation but I must admitt I think the whole thing is complete BS!

1. What he said was wrong yes, but did it really emotionaly scar these girls or anyone else? I mean if being called a "nappy haired ho" crushed these girls emotionaly they have bigger personal issues they need to worry about.

2. If Imus was black would this have even been a issue? No it wouldn't. This was the evil white cowboy putting down black women.

3. I'm so sick and tired of Sharpton and Jackson sticking thier noses in EVERY single incident that goes on in this damn world...geesh!

4. If CBS was so angry about his comments why did they wait so long to fire him? They instead waited until Sharpton, Jackson and thier sponsors rasied hell.

5. If Sharpton was black and a rap star he would be getting millions for saying ALOT worse things about women.

According to Snoop they aren't talking about the Rutgers BB team...they are talking about REAL nappyheaded hos in their songs.

Those were some of the most surreal comments I've ever seen.

Rocky Top, that's a pretty racey avatar there. IU mean, mine is suggestive. Yours is ... more so.

I stand by my assertion that Imus's comments were ignorant. If he thinks that he is above all criticism and free to say any damn thing he wants, the networks have shown him he must be ignorant.
