“November is also Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, and we have a unique opportunity to honor the legacy of Pat Summitt,” Heupel said on Monday. “We’ll be doing that at the game with our uniform, but we’ll also be doing that with a commemorative cup that everyone can purchase,” Heupel continued on to say. “All of that will go to UT Medical’s research on Alzheimer’s.”

I like the blue accessories we did last year though. It's fun once a year.
I like that we do this, because it has such a connection and level of importance for the University. Pat was bigger than just women’s hoops, so I’m perfectly cool with this once a year.

I love honoring her. The accessories are a great way to do it IMO. The traditional orange with blue accessories reminds me of the Lady Vol uni from her era. The all blue uni looks like the UK uniform in UNC blue.

No, that photo is from last year.

They will have blue accessories and that's all, just like the UTM game last season.
I was getting ready to say it looks like it's just composition to balance out the photo, and would've been a foot in mouth if I was wrong. Glad you beat me to it either way. lol😵‍💫

On a less important note...

Wonder what AI could do that includes every color and pattern from all our uniforms over the past 10 years. One stop Christmas shopping for the poor or thrifty UT fan!

The ladies' jerseys could be called "Closet Cleanout"-mode.

Mens' jerseys: "Equipment Truck Brake Fail on Monteagle"-mode.

Growing up in NJ just outside NYC, I have accumulated a lot of sports heroes in my lifetime. Joe Namath, Micky Mantle, Walt Frazier, Willis Reed, Rod Gilbert, Henrik Lundqvist, Darrel Waltrip, Arnold Palmer, Tom Seaver, Derek Jeter, Reggie White, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers. But at the top of that Who's Who in Sports, is none other than our very own Pat Summitt. On and off the court, she was a force beyond nature whose piercing eyes could cut through steel. When other UT teams were struggling, you could ALWAYS count on Pat's teams to give it their all. And the greatest stat in all of sports is not measured in homeruns, goals scored, touchdown passes thrown, tournaments won or championships earned. Every woman that played for Pat Summitt graduated from college. Pat insisted that women playing for her put education first and sports second, which almost doesn't seem possible with all of her games won and championship banners hanging from the rafters.

Thank you UT football program for honoring the greatest UT legend ever (1,098 - 208). And men, you sure as hell better give it your all on the field because Pat will be watching you!
