“I never really saw it coming to be honest with you,” Fisher said of a recruitment that’s taking off like a rocket ship this spring. “It’s crazy, but it’s important for me to stay humble and keep working hard. It’s a blessing for a 16 year old like myself to be in this position and that’s how I try to treat it everyday.” Fisher sounds like a young man who is taking a mature approach to the recruiting process, especially given all the attention he’s gotten. He’s got a checklist of things he looks for when he takes a visit and is keeping count of how programs match-up against one another in the areas he considers most important in his decision making process. “No. 1 is academics for me, that’s definitely first. After that, I want to make sure that I can build relationships at a place and not just with my position coach, I want to be able to connect with the coaches and the people inside the program,” he said. “I definitely look at the depth chart, I want to see when I’m going to have a shot to play. I want to go somewhere that I’m going to get developed, somewhere that will give me a chance to get to the next level. “Finally it’s got to be somewhere that I fit into the culture, where I get along with the players who are already there on the team and somewhere that I just fit in.”
