In state talent?

I'am sure this has been discussed before. I have heard everything from population to quality of the programs themselves. But in your opinion why is it that tennessee doesn't turn out the D-1 talent that other states around us do? We seem to turn out alot more basketball talent than football why is this?

There is less middle school football in Tennessee than surrounding states and basketball is king in Memphis, where much of our black population resides. Plus, Davidson County's inner city sports programs are crap as well, from the pee-wees to high schoolers, in all sports.

2009's class look pretty good. Marlon Brown is a 5 star on rivals and there should be several 4 stars...
