I've been hearing a lot of good things about CBJ. He's excited, a prototypical "football coach", he says he bleeds orange (believe that if you want to). He is supposed to be a tenacious recruiter. He said all the right things at the presser. So far, so good.

But none of that talk matters at all if he cant back it up on the field. This is the SEC, the land of giants. Here be Bama and Florida and Georgia and LSU. Here be the Ol' Ball Coach and Saban and Miles.

I will support CBJ through all the talk. I will give the man a chance, not that I have a choice.

But when the metal hits the meat, we will find out just what Dave Hart got us into. Because of the brutality of the schedule and the introduction of a brand new offensive scheme, I am predicting a 4-8 record next year. I am also predicting the worst football game attendance in decades.

CBJ is going to have to overcome all of that if he's going to earn my respect. He HAS to beat a big time SEC school and get a signature win that Derek Dooley never achieved.

The first sign of danger to me is when his coaching staff begins to look like Cincinnati's staff. This will prove to me that CBJ doesnt know any good coaches and cant get them to come to UT. This is the first step down the path to more losing.

Until I see results on the field, I will hold the "Butch Bashing". But as soon as we begin to look as pathetic as we did under Dooley, I will be looking for blood.

Nick saban was hired at lsu with a less impressive record than jone's has. The only thing i hope is that he does not get to much hate from the 'gruden or i'm pulling for another team' bunch and end up at one of our rival's beating us every year, then a bunch of fan's saying we had him and ran him off

I love it! This will automatically make him the next Saban!

Dont understand the logic behind us going 4-8. That means we win 1/4 against the likes of Auburn, Vandy, Mizzou, and Kentucky. I just dont see that happening. I dont think we have our worse record of all time under Butch.

I'm not saying that, i'm saying to all who are upset cause we didn't get gruden or some bigger name, that does not mean Butch will not be a great coach. Crap there are supposed fan's saying they are gonna pull for vandy now and he hasn't even coached a game

I think 6-6 or 7-5 is my expectation for next year 8-4 would be a huge success first year.

I'm starting to really like his approach to this and hope it translates well to the field. We must be patient as he will probably have to rebuild the offense as well as these juniors start declaring.

Losing bray, hunter, and cp will hurt if they leave but no way we do not go to a bowl at least next year when we actually have a coach that is capable of coaching. We survived Dooley without losing 8 games in a season. That means a lot

The good thing is that the defections will come from the offensive side of the ball, where I believe we can more afford them.

We should be OK at QB and WR, good on the OL, and OK at RB with a stud recruit or two. The theme for me on offense is "OK." Seems we should be functional even if not dynamic.

On defense, we get Lanier and Randolph back in the secondary, LaTroy Lewis, Christian Harris, and Maggit healthy at LB. we had a lot of injury issues on defense this year that got lost sight of during the mess. All of those guys will upgrade our defense. With some decent coaching, and another year of experience, who knows -- maybe we will be decent. Still need to find some pass rushers...TBD.

I think Tennessee will win 3 out of 4 non conference games and beat Kentucky or Auburn but not both. We will lose all our proven offensive threats to graduation or to the NFL draft. We have an offensive minded coach who is bringing his DC from Cincy, who is not known for defense. We are installing a type of offense that Tennessee has never played before. We have a brand new coach and in most cases the first year under any coach is a sub par season.

We will lose for sure to Oregon, Florida, Georgia, Bama, and USC.

We will most likely lose to Missouri since their coach will have another year at the helm and given the fact that they beat us in Knoxville I see no reason why we would win in Columbia.

We will most likely lose to Vanderbilt because James Franklin will continue to grow his team. They slaughtered us this past year and we will have lost all our offensive threats.

Right there I am very confident that we are 5-7.

I think its very reasonable for us to win the five remaining games, but I dont think it will happen. UT will find a way to lose to Auburn or at Kentucky.

Just my opinion of course. But I feel comfortable with it because nobody predicted that Tennessee would lose so many games this year and our schedule is tougher next year.
