Does anyone else think a foot should actually be on 2nd when the ball arrives for it to be a legit out? Seriously, if they're that good then make the play legitimately.

I hate the vicinity call. As well as the tie goes to the fielder at 1st.

I also don't want to see a bunch of 2nd basemen and Shortstops get their legs broken.

I still think they touch it more times than not.

It's the not part that bugs me. But hey, I'm not a huge fan of baseball anyhow. But when I do watch, it bugs me. Just like in the NBA where they get away with things kids in lower leagues would not.

volfanbill - You would have loved the Rangers - Angels game last night. Man on 1st and 3rd in the 8th and Vlad hit a grounder to short and Kendrick came off the bag early and the umpire called the runner safe. I immediately thought of this thread. Nice work!

Understand. But the guys in the Bigs are babied.

A big part of that is the ridiculous contracts.

Haha, I hate umpires as well. Most believe they are part of the show. It's quite sad. As if, all the people that bought tickets came to see them.

I was actually referring to you posting but your little circle is grey making it seem that you are not online...

Oh I see. Yea I like for people to wonder where I may be lurking.

Nice.

Why a Yankee's fan?

Grandfather was originally from the Baltimore area and he grew up a huge Yanks fan.

I, in turn, grew up to memorabilia and stories of Mick, Whitey, Yogi and such. Didn't really have an option.

I got you. I'm not a Yankees fan by any means but I love the history and everything that surrounds the franchise.

We are family friends of the O'Neils as they went to our church in Cincy when I lived there growing up. We actually went down to spring training in '01 and stayed in one of Girardi's rental homes and I got to shag flies during practice one day. I also played catch with Mr. David Justice. I got to go into the locker room and sat and talked with the Captain for about 10 minutes in front of his locker. It was amazing. It was also when Soriano was just coming up too so that was awesome. Mariano Rivera is tiny...

I love Yankees history.

Mo is tiny. I'm still baffled that he has been so dominant with two variations of a fastball.

The cutter is filthy. I saw him hit a very good collegiate catcher in the mask in a bullpen session in Tampa once.

Have to think he meant runner there...idk.

I know it is supposed to go to the runner. I meant that it is usualy given to the defense on a bang bang play at first.

Hence equating it to the vicinity call at second.
