With Mike Woodson not being retained, who ya got taking over in Bloomington? Is it a good job anymore?

Honestly, I think they need to move on from the Bobby Knight era players and coaches. I know they’re a hungry fanbase that wants to win like they used to but it’s just not the same job it was even 15 years ago.

It’s a long shot but I think you get all the money you can and you call Brad Stevens to see if there’s even a minute possibility he’d be interested.

Who else should be in the conversation?

BP says it was his dream job. Question: is it still his dream job? He is hated in BIG. Tricked a player into admitting he had received funds. That’s the reason the NCAA came down on him so hard over the kids at his house.

The thing about Indiana basketball is that even saying "they haven't been good since Bob Knight was fired" isn't even completely accurate. They didn't make it out of the last weekend of the the NCAAT the last 6 years he was there, which made it easier to fire him.

Why has it been so hard to win there? Is it really not all that great of a job? Tom Crean and Archie Miller were both "outside the family" hires that everybody seemed to think were good hires, but even those didn't work out. The best coach they hired (Sampson) got them on probation. There's also been some bad luck.

Bad hires make any job look bad.
Tennessee football looked like a bad job for a decade because we kept hiring buffoons.

Beard could go. Idk if IU’s higher ups would want him though with his past. I think Chris Jans would be a good hire for them. Heck there’s a couple coaches in the SEC I think they could get and it would be a good hire, but not a splashy name. And IU is gonna go after the splashy name. They just need a good X’s and O’s guy. Indiana will recruit itself

not much of a chance to hire any of those guys

Possibly May because he's from the Bloomington area and was on I believe Knight's staff. IU fans wanted him last few years before he went to Michigan. I know several people related to Dusty and they said Iu is his "dream job" but have told me he really doesn't want to spurn UM after just one season.
