Injury update?

Nothing major but a couple of bumps and bruises to report.

As we mentioned in the story from today on the front, Barton has an ankle sprain and is day-to-day. He didn't practice today. Armani Moore (knee) was also held out today and is listed as day-to-day.

Robert Hubbs got his shoulder dinged up a little this evening in practice and is now listed as day-to-day. Hubbs has been looking progressively better over the course of the last week, beginning with last Wednesday's scrimmage, really shooting it well.

Martin described all three as 'day-to-day' for the time being.

“@Ben_Fred: Martin says Armani Moore will be good to go for Saturday. Tweaked his left ankle, but is fine.”

"@Ben_Fred: Martin says Antonio Barton (left leg/ankle) is questionable for Saturday's exhibition. Needs to see him practice Thursday and Friday.”

If I were CCM I'd sit Barton Saturday. Let him rest the ankle to 100%, and give Thompson some needed game time minutes. Although Barton hasn't technically played with this team yet, he has moreless proven what he is/should be capable of. IMO

Idk, I'd think you'd want Barton to have as much time in game situations with his new teammates as possible.

Certainly a valid point. While maybe he is not on the elite talent level, I just think we know pretty much what to expect with Barton. But if we can get DT some confidence early, a solid pg coming off the bench that could slide Barton to the 2(in certain game situations) would be a nice weapon to have.

I agree with Goobie- rest Barton and only play him if he is 100% healthy. We want him ready for Xavier.

Barton had a notable injury at Memphis last year- broken foot that kept him out at least a month. I know he needs reps, but we need him to rest for the easy OOC games.

Yeah for real, give Thompson 25 minutes and B Lo 15 minutes in our 2 exhibitions if he isn't a 100%.

This. Thompson needs to get use to playing college athletes even if it's against a little lesser competition plus we need everyone 100% healthy for the season.

Our season starts out full steam ahead. There is no easing into it. Barton needs as much playing time with real game situations as possible. We need to be as much as a "well oiled machine" as possible when we go to Cincy. The whole year will be affected by the Xavier and B4A tourney. Come out slow and rusty the start of the season could make us a bubble team once again. Barton needs to play some if he can. Not if he is going to fight through an injury though. Thompson would get 20 minutes in exhibition play regardless if Barton plays or not.
