Before we knew Dilione was hurt we all thought he would not be much help this year after his early performances even though we heard he was really good. Now that we know he was trying to play through foot injury gives hope that he will eventually become this year the player we all hoped he would be adding even more depth to this team. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about injuries and “coach speak” is that there’s no way to interpret their language.
I don't know if this qualifies as "interpretation" but...

Never tell an opposing staff which players they don't have to scheme for.

Never free opposing players to spend more practice time preparing only for the players they will actually face.

It’s not clear to me if we’ll get to see the totally uninjured version of dillione this season still. Plantar fasciitis tends to be a nagging issue

I would rest Dillone against George Mason tomorrow night and maybe he will be ready for the beginning of SEC Play.

From what I saw of Dilione before the injury, going back to the games in Europe, it's the mental part of his game that needs work, plus the normal "maturing" of understanding what things you just can't do anymore at this level.

Only a few times, all lately, did I see him playing with awareness of his teammates on offense. Before, he had only been reading the defenders. I think he was misled by his success against the European teams. Those "pre-determined" attempts to take it to the hole haven't worked since the season started.

So if we have the GM game under control, I'd like to see Dilione get a lot of short duration opportunities to play, sit, assess, then go back out and apply. Hopefully, he's doing it right in practice and only has to learn to curb his instincts and use his head when the crowd is present.

It sounds like Knecht is invincible and has been full go at practices lol, Awaka is back to full health, and Dillione can play against George Mason but it may be very little. So, by the time the NC State game rolls around we may be back to full health! That would be ideal going into SEC play. I’m going to say we win the next 6 games and head into SEC play 10-3 and back ranked in the top 10.

I'm less concerned about getting Dillione in for the purpose of beating teams (which we can mostly do without him) as I am about having him develop so he's a force by March.

Dalton Knecht will be available for No. 17 Tennessee tonight against George Mason, according to a Tennessee spokesperson. Knecht sprained his left ankle late in last week’s 100-92 loss at North Carolina.

I’m guessing you’ve never had plantar fasciitis? Some people struggle with it for years.
However, treatment today is much better than it was a few years ago. My wife had it a couple of months ago and was able to cure it in less than two weeks just by changing her shoes to some with much more support keeping the foot much more stable..

Can she play PG and does she have any eligibility left?
