"Don't say VFL if your actions don't match. This makes you a hypocrite".

I think alot of people here could benefit by listening to Inky here. VolNation seems to be full of them.

I've learned not to get mad at the folks on here. I am passionate about TN football and it is a big part of my life. I get upset when we lose, but having played sports before, I know the players feel worse. Some of us will always be a Vol, others will waiver. That's on them...

I will always support my Vols. Hell, I just flew my family from California to see the Auburn game. But this idea that is consistently put forth on this board, and now by Inky, that your are not a "true" fan or VFL if you voice criticism on some really pathetic performances is unfair and quite sad.

Fans invest quite a lot in their teams from both an economic and emotional perspective, and we have every right to get upset when the teams we love do not perform well. What is the converse of this? Just keep smiling and blowing smoke while we continue to devolve into further mediocrity? I think not. I'll keep supporting my Vols and I'll keep calling it as I see it. If that doesn't make me a VFL, then so be it.

I agree you could not have said it better.

Thanks CA VOL! I just stated that our blocking or tackling sucked and got called a hypocrite. Butch is a smart coach and will figure this out. Some people start threads without thinking out the ramifications.

I don't think the point behind what he said is that there shouldn't be any criticism. There is in fact constructive criticism, in which Butch seemed to incorporate into their practices to fire up the team. It's the fact that some people are calling for the coaches to be fired. It's some of the same people who I see praise them after victory and lash out at them after defeat.

I didn't call you or anyone out personally. So I think it's you who needs to rethink your posts before posting. Not once did I say YOU were a hypocrite. How you speculated that is beyond me ...

I agree, who the hell does Inky think he is? I mean here is a fan that just flew his whole family to sit and watch a football game, that is true dedication and sacrifice. what the hell has Inky ever sacrificed for UT? How dare he make those comments.

We are where we are right now, we don't belong on the field with a top 10 team. We will see what kind of coach CBJ is the next 2 weeks Our team has been smashed in the mouth for about a month now. Can Butch turn this thing around and get to a bowl? Vandy is coming off a huge win on the road, so they will be fired up and we will see where team 117 fits in the history of UT.

If CBJ is a smart man, he will get Inky on the UT staff somehow.

I hope you were being sarcastic about Inky not sacrificing anything for UT. He lost movement in one of his arms for God's sake while giving his all for Tennessee! He devotes alot of his time to speak to the team, etc. If you were being sarcastic, then excuse me, my sarcasm meter must be down. If not, then that's just silly!

Yeah, that's right buddy. I was obviously making a comparison between me coming to the game and what Inky has sacrificed for UT.

People like you are the problem. When you can't intelligently argue your point, you attack the person based on completely false assertions, and call it a day. Congrats on your pathetic attempt to marginalize my comment, but I assume most on this board will not be fooled by it.

Good points, but I think you misunderstand inky and others. They aren't mad at the people who simply criticize the team's performance if it's not good. Inky is directing that quote to those "fans" who say things like "I'm done with this team", "Butch is not the coach for us. We should fire him and get another coach", "Our team sucks and will never be relevant again", ect.

Fair point and I probably should have divorced Inky's comment from the large contingent on this board that often take honest critism and trash the posters as "not a true fans." I agree there are those that just go beyond the pale, but many on here are flamed for putting forth their assessments and that is just lame.

Ok, my sarcasm meter is up and running now. I got the meaning behind the post. I agree, people are getting flamed for simply implying that the blocking sucks, etc. Some people just jump off the deep end. I think this is what Inky is referring to.

For me, I don't mind if someone says something like "this group had a bad day because...." or "Butch needs to do this better" and so on. My problem is when people who wear black tinted glasses come on here and only talks negative about our team and can never find a good thing with the team.

Dude, you just called Inky out STFU Then you called me the problem - and my pathetic attempt, Get on your plane, go back to CA. and don't come back if that is all you got. You have every right to come on here and post what you want. just like I have every right to point out your Absurdity by being absurd myself.

Vols fans have expected Tennessee to be competing for SEC championships before Inky was born. We get to complain and moan when we are bad and cheer when we are good. We don't give up on being fans or the university. We are fans for life. That doesn't mean we are satisfied with a less than average performance. CAVol made a great VFL move in flying from Cali to see his team. I applaud him and hope he spreads his passion for the Vols.

I don't know what Inky may have been tweeting about but I am sure it wasn't about a fan flying across the country to watch a game.

That being said, Go Butch!! We will Rise to the Top!! Give us time.
