Repeating the same thing and expecting different results. Didnt we all buy into a ex NFL coach coming in and bringing with him an amazing staff that could recruit with the best of them. His name was Lane Kiffin and he left after one year. I could see Gruden doing the exact same thing when a big time NFL job comes open. So be warned if we get him.

Come on man... The two hardly compare. Kiffin won three games at Oakland. Gruden won a Super Bowl. Gruden is also a household name to recruits because ESPN plasters his face all over their network. I hardly knew who Lane Kiffin was when he was hired.

They should add an alternate definition to the word Insanity, and it should read: "Comparing a Super Bowl winning coach to a coach that has won nothing and lead the No. 1 team in the nation to a 7-5 record." Yea, that is insane

Gruden was picked by Peyton Manning from what I have read. That would be the difference.

Insanity is having a Wal-Mart budget, not having a big fish on the hook when firing a coach, and expecting to compete at a national level.

We have not been nationally relevant in at least 5 years, and I expect that trend to continue. While I do not believe that Gruden is the only coach that can win here, we are in serious need of a winner. We are Tennessee and deserve better than this 5 years of hell we have all been through.

Overpaying Gruden far outweighs the risk in hiring him. Coaching salaries will continue to increase. Demands will continue to increase. And our fledgling program's lack of attendance and revenue will increase as well.
