omg, smith is such an animal! absolute beast! cant wait to see him in orange.

side note, is there any, any chance that we may be able to snatch Maclin from LSU?

From that TN Top 10 list, in addition to the K. Malone verbal commitment, Bama is seriously recruiting #3 OT James Stone and #8 TE Harrison Jones. Malone's commitment is solid. Jones is down to Bama and Oklahoma and is expected to commit before the season. Stone appears to be taking his time.

Who on the list is UT really going after hard? And which ones are you guys expecting to land?

Maclin is super over-rated.
I don't know about super but I agree that he may be somewhat overrated. Bama was after him, but I think he felt the level of competition at LB was a bit too daunting for him at Bama vs LSU. Bama is fairly stacked at LB.

I think Stone is the only one on that list we are really pushing for, and I think we will be able to land him.

Cameron Clemmons would likely be a Vol if/when he is given an offer.

Things with Brunetti could get interesting depending on how the QB situation turns out.

Another big-time down year in the state.

After those Top 3 guys there is just a huge dropoff IMO in terms of being upper echelon SEC talents.

My Top 3 would be: 1. Smith 2. Stone 3. Maclin....

After that you can rank them however you want...just a huge dropoff in talent.

At least the upcoming '11 class looks strong with good numbers.

You could be right. Williams could end up being a stud. I bet he earns a offer after this season.

IMO, he was the best player on the field in the 2A state championship game, even though his team lost. IIRC, he had over 20 tackles in the game.

I think that Brunetti belongs with that group. I would agree that it falls off after that. Long before UT recruited Brunetti as a QB, they told him that he a scholarship waiting as an Athlete.

This kid is a beast on and off the field. He ties a tractor tire around his waist and runs uphill with them. The Work ethic is there and so are the grades.

Kentucky has offered. They know what kind of talent this kid is.

I don't think a Kentucky offer screams what kind of talent he is.

From the only game I saw of him though, he was a beast. IIRC he had 26 tackles in the game against Alcoa. I don't know how his game transfers to the next level, or his athleticism, or any of that though. Thats pretty much all I know
