Insight from Paradise, final coaches comments

Associate head coach Tony Jones stayed outside the hotel into the wee hours of the night, staring out into space..."Yeah, just thinking how different we'd be feeling if that shot went in. Man..."

He hadn't been enjoying a little of the local flora, had he? It is pretty popular in that part of the world.

Grif I like that you are on here.

I really liked the Keady piece.

I think I would like you to sit down with Tony Jones and ask some questions, questions about player development etc.

Some of the people on here enjoy being miserable and will hate CBP no matter what, but some of them really want TN to succeed and want to know why Chism does not look much better now than he did as a sophomore and whether he can get to the NBA despite his asthma. They want to know if Bobby Maze will realize he needs to drive to the bucket more than twice a game. They want to know why JP Prince as a senior looks like NBA body and rec league brain. They want to know if Tyler Smith is going to ever take a 3 pointer, particularly since he supposedly improved in that area.

I am very happy that the defense looks better. The big shot at redemption will come against Kansas and I am so fired up to see that, but man there seems to be at least two seniors who still play in a pretty idiotic manner, and two other guys who I predicted would be in the NBA after this season who may not recognize their opportunity.

If Wayne and Tyler take this team to its first elite 8 or further, they will assure themselves of an NBA opportunity. If they let Scotty Hopson be the leader of the team, we will lose when he is cold and we will win when he is hot. Both of them are too talented to allow that to occur.

Since you are the KNS bball writer I would also like an SEC report. Florida and Vandy both look better than many thought they would and have some great early returns. I am looking for Vanderbilt to beat Arizona tonight. The Florida defense looked the best it has looked since the NC in the FSU game.

The SEC west looks worse than people thought and unless LSU shocks UConn tonight the SEC West will look like
Miss State is not going to the tournament without Sidney being cleared (what is your take on if and when that happens?)
Ole Miss is a tournament team, but as like a 6-8 seed
Arkansas is not going
Auburn is an embarassment
Alabama is sucking and playing well below their talent level
LSU???

Thank you sir, keep up the good work!

Good read G. And good to know this team is sounding like the football team, ie: buying into the practicing hard, settling for 2nd place is not acceptable. I think they will be just fine come March.

Nice read. And speaking of teams looking better than they did, Vanderbilt looks great! I look forward to a very competitive conference this year and I aint too worried about Tennessee. The defense looks much improved and with the blow outs, being squeaky against a Depaul team we should of beat easily, I think a Purdue lose opens their eyes up a little bit more.

Anyone read the first comment at the end of the article? Check out the poster's name. Pretty low class if you ask me.
