If i hear one more person say that the Instant Replay rule gets the calls right I am going to point to about a dozen times when even video "evidence" is not good enough to overturn a call. This, my friends, is the beginning of the downfall of college football. In a fail-safe atmosphere it still is extremely flawed. Two weeks in a row we've had officials make the wrong call on the field and the people up in the booth get it wrong still yet. It baffles me why anybody would think this is good for college football. This is a statement on society. IF you cannot handle the rules and the judgements on the field then get off the field and out of the stands. THis is hypocracy at its best.

There, i said it.

Because it works the vast majority of times. It just becomes memorable when it doesn't.

I like the replay rule, but whoever was in the replay booth last Saturday should be fired and black listed from ever being an NCAA official ever again. That being said, no point in throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I like replay. Most times they do the right thing. Sometimes they mess up. They are human you know. EVERYONE messes up from time to time. Odds are replay officials get it right most times. They did blow a couple major ones this year though.

And the Vols still would have lost to Kentucky. Without replay, and its misapplication, UT would have probably gone on to lose to Vanderbilt too. Palardy is awful. Why would a UT fan be whining about the existence of replay...

Another stupid thread about throwing out replay because of one or two bad rulings.

This same guy would be raising holy hades if a call was missed and there was no replay.

I think the instant replay is better than 95% accurate. I've watched replays of games played before instant replay and it's obvious that the refs missed many, many calls on the field. The game's just too fast to rely on human eyes at full speed. The instant replay is here to stay, and for good reasons, IMHO. If they tried to remove it, there would be an uproar.

Must not remember life before instant replay

I can certainly remember it. The games went faster, there was more football, there was not a run the clock after an out of bounds play and there was less waiting for some mouthbreather in the press box to make a decision on what's best for down on the field. It has no place in football. Period.

Then stop watching because it's not going anywhere.

A lot of times it seems like the refs don't pay as much attention now because they know they have instant replay to fall back on. I think replay has made officiating worse even though they wind up getting the calls right with a second look. Also there is no reason for it to take as long as it does. You can see it on tv in 5 seconds but it takes them 5 minutes to figure it out.
