Based on what you have seen so far, are you for it or against it?

College football has adopted the instant replay to varying degrees in different conferences. So far, I personally think its great. Would not have saved us last year in the Incompetence Bowl up there versus UT, but might have made a difference in the Gaffney catch(?) Now if we could only get them to adopt a playoff, too.

I just edited the poll.  Will that suffice?

I don't like the way they are doing it. There's just something about putting it all in the hands of a guy up in the booth that I don't like.

Well with instant replay we might be able to review some plays that would help us decide on a QB (Iknow I owe Ga a nickel) but seriously I haven't made up my mind, I would like for the coaches to have at least 1 chance per ball game to ask for a review(the early whistle on Riggs for example)

Whistles aren't reviewable, I don't think. Play is blown dead, its blown dead.

That still doesn't change the fact that it was a bad whistle.....

I like the NFL system where it's in the coaches hands except for the final 2 minutes. I'd give the coaches 2 challenges per half and if they were wrong I'd charge them with a timeout and flag them 5 yards for delay of game so there is an incentive to be right.

I like the sound of that and I also think that instant replay is gonna prove once and for all that Randy Sanders should be replaced . :ninja:

Voted, didnt know yet.
I was in favor of it because of the limits they had put on it.
But as OWB said Riggs never touched the ground and the whistle blew, That wouldnt have been reviewable anyway. What confrence is it that already using the 1 coaches (flag) per-half? WAC/MAC? They seem to have that system working pretty well, Maybe some others will follow with it next season?

I don't remember which conference that is, but I agree, that is a good system. Give the coaches control over it, but make it a risk/reward type thing.

maybe we can work on a new formula for the BCS next (that one costs you a nickel too!)

Maybe if Urban asks for one and is wrong he has to say some Hail Mary's whereas if Fulmer mistakenly asks for one he has to jog a lap?

Maybe they could just set up a live video feed to the jumbotron showing a man threatening to kick a puppy if the challenge is not successful.

I saw it used, in the MIAMI-Florida State game ( I think ).
It slows the game down a little, but it's worth it.

You are correct, once it is blown dead it is dead. Judgement calls(Riggs' forward progress) are not reviewable.

I kinda think getting screwed is just part of the game.....and it all eventually works out evenly. Example: Florida got what they deserved last year.
So.....no, I hate replay.

Rather than the coaches having the option - I would like to see the on the field officials have the ability to call for assistance on a call. Somewhat akin to the home plate ump asking for help from the 1st/3rd base umpire on a 'check swing'.

No way am I for it.

How does Florida and Alabama expect us to ever win if we can't control the officials. :nener:

No Replays.

I don't think you controlled them last year. They were just idiots.

I was all for replay... then I saw the replay official mess up a good call in the FSU-Miami game on Monday night...

I aggree with you there. That was a fluke call. I don't know what game those officials were watching up in the booth, but the guy clearly blew that one. The guy definately recovered that fumble in bounds. IMO
